4. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wipe the machine with a dry cloth to remove any manufacturing residue. It is recommended to run a small piece of scrap dough through the rollers and cutters to clean them thoroughly. Discard this dough.
  3. Secure the Machine:
    • Insert the table clamp into the designated hole on the base of the pasta maker.
    • Place the pasta maker on a stable countertop or table.
    • Tighten the clamp screw until the machine is firmly secured and does not move during operation. Ensure the countertop thickness is suitable for the clamp (maximum height: 7mm).
  4. Insert Hand Crank: Insert the hand crank into the roller drive shaft on the side of the machine.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Preparing Dough

Prepare your pasta dough according to your recipe. The dough should be firm, elastic, and not too sticky. Lightly flour your work surface and hands to prevent sticking.

5.2. Rolling Dough Sheets

  1. Adjust Thickness: Locate the thickness adjustment dial on the side of the pasta roller. Pull it out, rotate it to your desired setting (1-7), and push it back in to lock. Setting 1 produces the thickest sheet (approximately 3mm), and setting 7 produces the thinnest (approximately 0.5mm). Start with a thicker setting (e.g., 1 or 2) and gradually decrease.
  2. Initial Rolling: Flatten a small piece of dough by hand or with a rolling pin. Feed the dough into the wide opening of the pasta roller while turning the hand crank.
  3. Fold and Repeat: Fold the rolled dough sheet in half or thirds, lightly flour it, and pass it through the rollers again at the same thickness setting. Repeat this process several times until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Gradual Thinning: Once the dough is smooth, gradually reduce the thickness setting (e.g., from 1 to 2, then 2 to 3, and so on), passing the dough through each setting once or twice until you reach the desired thickness for your pasta type.

5.3. Cutting Pasta

The pasta maker comes with a detachable 2-in-1 cutter head for different pasta types.

  1. Attach Cutter: Once your dough sheet is rolled to the desired thickness, remove the hand crank from the roller unit. Insert the 2-in-1 cutter head into the designated slots on the pasta maker. Ensure it is securely in place.
  2. Insert Hand Crank into Cutter: Insert the hand crank into the drive shaft of the chosen cutter (either the wide 4.5mm fettuccine cutter or the narrow 2mm spaghetti cutter).
  3. Cut Pasta: Feed the dough sheet into the cutter opening while slowly turning the hand crank. Guide the pasta as it emerges to prevent tangling.
  4. Dry Pasta: Hang the freshly cut pasta on a drying rack or lightly flour it and arrange it on a clean surface to dry slightly before cooking.

  • Do Not Wash: The pasta maker is not dishwasher safe and should not be immersed in water.
  • Remove Dough Residue: Use a dry brush, toothpick, or a small wooden stick to remove any dough residue from the rollers and cutters.
  • Wipe Surfaces: Wipe all external surfaces with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Storage: Store the pasta maker in a dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Dough sticks to rollers/cutters. Dough is too wet or not sufficiently floured. Add more flour to the dough or lightly flour the dough surface before rolling. Ensure dough is firm.
Pasta sheets tear or break. Dough is too dry or not kneaded enough. Add a small amount of water to the dough and knead further. Ensure dough is elastic.
Hand crank falls out during use. Crank not fully inserted or insufficient inward pressure. Ensure the hand crank is fully inserted into the drive shaft. Maintain slight inward pressure while turning.
Machine moves during operation. Table clamp not tightened sufficiently. Re-tighten the table clamp securely to a stable surface.
