5. Setup Instructions

  1. Placement: Place the plasma cutter on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from moisture and flammable materials.
  2. Power Connection:
    • Ensure the machine's power switch is in the OFF position.
    • Connect the appropriate power adapter (110V or 230V) to the power input on the rear panel of the CUT-40.
    • Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. The intelligent power supply system will automatically detect and adapt to the input voltage (100V-250V).
  3. Air Compressor Connection:
    • Connect an external air compressor to the NPT 1/4 inch industrial D-type coupler on the rear panel.
    • Ensure the air pressure is set according to the cutting requirements (refer to the pressure gauge on the front panel).
  4. Plasma Torch Connection: Connect the plasma cutter gun assembly to the designated port on the front panel. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Work Clamp Connection: Connect the work clamp cable to the designated port on the front panel. Attach the work clamp securely to the workpiece, ensuring good electrical contact.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Turn the power switch on the front panel to the ON position. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Adjust Amperage: Use the amperage adjustment knob to set the desired cutting current. Refer to the specifications for recommended settings based on material type and thickness.
    • Cutting Current Range: 15-33A (at 115V) and 15-40A (at 230V).
    • Maximum Clean Cut Thickness: 1/2 inch.
    • Maximum Severance Thickness: 3/4 inch.
    • Compatible Materials: Stainless steel, alloy steel, low-carbon steel, copper, iron, pig iron, cast iron, aluminum alloy, aluminum.
  3. Check Air Pressure: Ensure the air pressure gauge indicates sufficient pressure for cutting. Adjust the air compressor as needed.
  4. Begin Cutting:
    • Position the plasma torch nozzle close to the workpiece.
    • Press the trigger on the plasma torch to initiate the arc.
    • Move the torch steadily along the desired cut line. Maintain a consistent speed for a clean cut.
  5. Duty Cycle: The machine has a duty cycle of 60% at 40A and 100% at 31A. Allow the machine to cool down if the duty cycle is exceeded to prevent overheating. The fan with automatic temperature control will assist in cooling.
  6. Power Off: After completing the cutting operation, release the torch trigger, turn the power switch to OFF, and disconnect the power supply.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your plasma cutter.

  • Air Filter: Periodically check and drain any accumulated moisture from the internal air filter using the drain valve on the rear panel. Replace the filter element if it becomes clogged or damaged.
  • Consumables: Inspect the plasma torch consumables (electrode, nozzle, shield cup) regularly. Replace them when they show signs of wear or damage to maintain cut quality.
  • Cleaning: Keep the machine clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe down the exterior. Ensure cooling vents are unobstructed.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables (power, torch, work clamp) for cuts, abrasions, or loose connections. Repair or replace damaged cables immediately.
