1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your LUOWAN Android 10 Touch Screen Infotainment System. This system is designed to upgrade the in-car experience for Mercedes Benz GLE (2016-2019) and GLS (2017-2019) models equipped with NTG 5.0. It integrates advanced features while retaining the functionality of your original car system.

4. Installation Guide

5. Setup and Initial Configuration

5.1. First Power On

Once installed, turn on your vehicle's ignition. The system will boot up to the Android interface. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as language selection and time zone.

5.2. Network Connectivity (WiFi & 4G LTE)

The system supports both WiFi and 4G LTE connectivity. To connect to WiFi, navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and select your desired network. For 4G LTE, insert a compatible SIM card into the designated slot (refer to Figure 5.2 for SIM card slot location). This enables internet access for streaming, navigation, and app downloads.

5.3. Bluetooth Pairing

To pair your smartphone via Bluetooth, go to Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and visible. Select your phone from the list on the screen and confirm the pairing code.

6.1. Main Interface and Navigation

The main interface (Figure 6.1) provides quick access to key functions. Swipe left or right to navigate through different app screens. Tap on icons to launch applications.

6.2. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

The system features built-in wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. Once your phone is paired via Bluetooth, launch the "AutoLink" or "CarPlay" app from the main menu. The system will automatically connect to your phone, displaying the CarPlay or Android Auto interface (Figure 6.2). This allows access to phone functions, navigation, music, and messaging directly from the touch screen.

Video 6.1 demonstrates how to access and use the wireless CarPlay feature, highlighting the seamless integration with your smartphone for navigation, music, and communication.

6.3. Retaining Original Car Features (NTG Mode)

This unit is designed to retain all original Mercedes Benz car features. To switch back to your original car's infotainment system (NTG mode), simply tap the "NTG Mode" icon on the main Android interface. This allows you to access your original radio, CD player, and iDrive system.

6.4. App Installation and Usage

6.6. Special Display Features

The unit features a unique clock display integrated into the air vent panel. This display can be customized to show a clock, car logo, or compass. This is a display, not a physical clock.
