Setup and Installation

Location Requirements

  • Ensure adequate clearances from combustible materials as specified in the installation instructions.
  • Select a location with proper ventilation and air circulation.
  • Do not install in bathrooms or bedrooms unless local codes permit.

Wall Mounting

  1. Identify a suitable wall location, ensuring it can support the heater's weight.
  2. Mark the mounting screw locations using the template provided (if applicable) or by measuring the heater's mounting points.
  3. Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
  4. Securely attach the heater to the wall using the provided mounting screws.

Gas Connection

  • All gas connections must be performed by a qualified professional in accordance with local codes.
  • Ensure the gas supply is turned off before making any connections.
  • Connect the natural gas supply line to the heater's gas inlet using appropriate fittings and pipe sealant.
  • Check all connections for leaks using a non-corrosive leak detection solution.

Blower Installation

  • Locate the blower mounting area on the heater (typically at the top or rear).
  • Attach the blower assembly according to the specific instructions provided with the blower kit.
  • Connect the blower's power cord to a standard electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Lighting the Pilot

  1. Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
  2. Turn the control knob to the 'PILOT' position.
  3. Press and hold the control knob in.
  4. While holding the knob, press the igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame lights.
  5. Continue to hold the control knob in for approximately 30-60 seconds after the pilot lights to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
  6. Release the control knob. If the pilot goes out, repeat the process.

Operating the Heater

  1. Once the pilot is lit, turn the control knob to the desired heat setting (e.g., 'LOW', 'MED', 'HIGH' or a specific temperature on the thermostat).
  2. The main burner will ignite.
  3. The integrated blower will activate automatically when the heater reaches a certain temperature, circulating warm air.

Shutting Down

  • To turn off the main burner, turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position. The pilot light will also extinguish.
  • For extended periods of non-use, turn off the main gas supply valve to the heater.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Exterior: Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Burner/Pilot Area: Periodically inspect the burner and pilot areas for dust, lint, or debris. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to gently remove any accumulations. Ensure the heater is cool and the gas supply is off before cleaning.

Annual Inspection

It is recommended to have the heater inspected annually by a qualified service technician to ensure proper operation and safety.
