  4. Route the power cable and GPS cable neatly along the windshield edge and under the car trim using the provided prying tool to maintain a clean and safe installation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when connected to power and your vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will power off automatically when the ignition is turned off.

5.2 Basic Recording

Once powered on, the dash cam will automatically start continuous loop recording. Video files are saved in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) to the memory card. When the card is full, the oldest unlocked files will be overwritten.

5.3 Using the Touchscreen

Navigate through the dash cam's menus and settings by tapping and swiping on the 3-inch IPS touchscreen. Icons on the screen represent various functions and settings.

5.4 Wi-Fi Connectivity and App Usage

The IIWEY S3 dash cam features built-in Wi-Fi for seamless connection to your smartphone. Download the "WitCam Pro" app (or specified app in the manual) from your device's app store (available for iOS and Android).

  1. On the dash cam, enable Wi-Fi from the settings menu. The screen will display the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  2. On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network using the provided password.
  3. Open the "WitCam Pro" app. You can now view live footage, browse recorded videos, download files to your phone, and adjust camera settings remotely.

5.5 GPS Tracking

With the GPS module connected, the dash cam records your vehicle's speed, location, and driving route. This data can be viewed during video playback using the dedicated GPS player software on a computer (download link usually provided in the app or on the manufacturer's website) or within the mobile app.

5.6 G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When activated, it automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These locked files are stored in a separate folder on the memory card.

5.7 24H Parking Monitor

When enabled, the parking monitor feature allows the dash cam to automatically record if it detects motion or an impact while your vehicle is parked. This feature requires a continuous power supply, typically achieved through a hardwire kit (sold separately) connected to your car's fuse box.

5.8 Loop Recording

Loop recording ensures continuous recording by overwriting the oldest unlocked video files when the memory card reaches its capacity. You can set the duration of each video segment (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) in the settings.

6. Maintenance

  • Memory Card Formatting: It is recommended to format the memory card regularly (e.g., once a month) to prevent data corruption and ensure optimal performance. This can usually be done through the dash cam's settings.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and overall performance.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the official IIWEY website periodically for firmware updates. Updating the firmware can improve performance, add new features, or fix bugs.
