4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Initial Charge
Upon receipt, the solar lights may have depleted battery charge due to transportation. Before installation, place the lights in direct sunlight for 3-6 hours to ensure a full charge.
4.2 Activating the Light
After initial charging, place the light in a dark environment. If the light comes on, the switch is already in the 'ON' position. If it does not light up, firmly press the bottom power button for 1-2 seconds to activate it. Ensure the switch is 'ON' before proceeding with installation.
4.3 Choosing an Installation Location
Select a location where the solar panel can receive direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. Avoid areas shaded by trees, buildings, or other obstructions, as this will reduce charging efficiency and illumination time.
4.4 Mounting the Light
The base of the solar light is designed to fit posts with dimensions of approximately 9.5 x 9.5 cm (3.62 x 3.62 inches). The included fixed mounting piece (bracket) allows for versatile installation on various post sizes, including 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6 inch wooden posts. No wiring is required for installation.
- For 4x4 (3.5"x3.5") and 5x5 (4.5"x4.5") wooden posts, the light can often be placed directly or secured with the provided screws.
- For 6x6 (5.5"x5.5") wooden posts, use the provided bracket and screws for secure mounting.
- These lights are generally not suitable for vinyl posts without additional modifications or specific adapters not included.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and activated, the GEYUEYA Home Solar LED Post Lights operate automatically:
- Daytime: The integrated solar panel detects daylight and automatically turns off the LEDs, initiating the charging process for the internal battery.
- Nighttime: As ambient light diminishes, the automatic sensor detects darkness and switches on the LEDs, providing illumination. The lights will remain on for 12-16 hours, depending on the amount of sunlight received during the day.
6. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your solar LED post lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption for efficient charging.
- Clear Obstructions: Periodically check that no new obstructions (e.g., growing foliage, new structures) are blocking direct sunlight from reaching the solar panel.
- Inspect for Damage: Occasionally inspect the light for any physical damage to the casing or solar panel. Although IP65 rated, severe impacts can compromise its waterproof integrity.

7. Troubleshooting
If your GEYUEYA Home Solar LED Post Light is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- Light Does Not Turn On at Night:
- Ensure the power button on the bottom of the light is pressed and the light is activated. Press it firmly for 1-2 seconds to toggle.
- Verify that the solar panel is receiving sufficient direct sunlight during the day (6-8 hours). Relocate the light if necessary.
- Check for any obstructions (e.g., dirt, leaves) on the solar panel and clean it.
- The ambient light sensor might be detecting light from another source (e.g., street light, porch light), preventing the solar light from activating.
- Short Illumination Time:
- The battery may not be fully charged. Ensure the solar panel receives maximum direct sunlight exposure.
- Cold weather can affect battery performance and reduce illumination duration.
- The battery may be nearing the end of its lifespan. While not user-replaceable, reduced performance over several years is normal.
