Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of each walkie talkie.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 3 AA rechargeable batteries into each walkie talkie, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Charging

  1. Connect the dual-head USB charging cable to the charging port on each walkie talkie.
  2. Plug the USB end of the cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The charging indicator will illuminate. Allow sufficient time for a full charge (approximately 3-4 hours).

3. Attaching Lanyard and Belt Clip

  1. To attach the lanyard, thread the loop of the lanyard through the designated slot at the top of the walkie talkie.
  2. To attach the belt clip, slide the clip onto the grooves on the back of the walkie talkie until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the MENU/POWER button until the screen illuminates.
  • To power off, press and hold the MENU/POWER button until the screen turns off.

2. Adjusting Volume

  • Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to adjust the listening volume.

3. Changing Channels

  • Press the MENU/POWER button once to enter channel selection mode.
  • Use the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
  • Press the MENU/POWER button again to confirm your selection or wait a few seconds for it to auto-confirm.
  • Note: Both walkie talkies must be on the same channel to communicate.

4. Push-to-Talk (PTT)

  • To transmit your voice, press and hold the TALK button located on the side of the walkie talkie.
  • Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the TALK button to listen for a response.

5. Call Feature

  • Press the CALL button (music note icon) to send an audible alert to other walkie talkies on the same channel.

6. Flashlight Operation

  • Press the LAMP button to turn the built-in flashlight on or off.

7. VOX (Voice Operated Transmission)

  • VOX allows hands-free communication. To activate, press MENU/POWER three times until 'VOX' appears. Use UP/DOWN to select sensitivity level (1-3). Press MENU/POWER to confirm.

8. Key Lock Function

  • To prevent accidental changes to settings, press and hold the MENU/POWER button for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate the key lock. A key icon will appear on the display when locked.

9. NOAA Weather Alert

  • To access NOAA Weather Alerts, press the N/W button. Use UP/DOWN to select a weather channel. Press MENU/POWER to confirm.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the walkie talkies with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: Fully charge batteries before long-term storage. If not used for extended periods, charge them periodically to maintain battery health.
  • Water Resistance: These walkie talkies are Not Water Resistant. Avoid exposure to water or moisture.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged.
  • No Sound/Poor Sound Quality: Check volume settings. Ensure both units are on the same channel. Move closer to the other unit if range is an issue.
  • Unable to Communicate: Verify both walkie talkies are powered on and set to the identical channel. Check battery levels.
  • Short Range: Obstacles like buildings, hills, or dense foliage can reduce range. Try moving to an open area.
