Setup Instructions

  1. Placement: Position the air pump above the water level of your aquarium to prevent water backflow. If placing below water level, a check valve is essential.
  2. Connect Air Tubes: Attach one end of the air tube to each outlet of the air pump.
  3. Install Air Stones: Connect the other end of each air tube to an air stone.
  4. Submerge Air Stones: Place the air stones at the desired location within your aquarium.
  5. Install Check Valves (Crucial for Safety): If the air pump is placed below the water level, cut the air tube and insert a check valve in the line between the pump and the air stone. Ensure the check valve is oriented correctly to allow air flow towards the aquarium and prevent water backflow into the pump.
  6. Optional: Regulating Valves and T-connector: Use the regulating valves to fine-tune air flow to individual air stones. The T-connector can be used to combine two air lines into one or split one line into two, if needed for specific setups.
  7. Secure Tubing: Use the provided suction cups to secure the air tubes along the back or sides of your aquarium, keeping them tidy and preventing kinks.

The air pump can be conveniently placed or hung near the aquarium, with air tubes leading to air stones submerged in the water to provide essential aeration.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once all connections are secure and the air stones are submerged, plug the air pump into a suitable power outlet. The pump will begin operating immediately.
  2. Adjust Air Volume: Locate the adjustment knob on the top of the air pump. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase air output and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust to achieve the desired bubble intensity for your aquarium.
  3. Monitoring: Regularly observe the air flow to ensure consistent bubble production and proper aeration.

Maintenance

  • Air Stone Cleaning: Over time, air stones can become clogged, reducing air flow. Clean or replace air stones regularly (e.g., monthly) to maintain optimal performance.
  • Air Tube Inspection: Check air tubes periodically for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Replace damaged tubing as needed.
  • Pump Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the pump with a dry cloth to remove dust. Do not immerse the pump in water.
  • Internal Filter (if applicable): Some air pumps have internal filters. Refer to the product diagram for your specific model to check if it has a replaceable filter and how to access it for cleaning or replacement.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No air output or weak air flow
  • Power not connected
  • Air stones clogged
  • Air tubes kinked or blocked
  • Check valve installed incorrectly or blocked
  • Pump diaphragm worn out
  • Ensure pump is plugged in and power outlet is working.
  • Clean or replace air stones.
  • Straighten or replace air tubes.
  • Verify check valve orientation and clear any blockages.
  • Contact customer support if pump is old and diaphragm is suspected.
Pump is noisy
  • Pump vibrating against surface
  • Internal components loose or worn
  • Ensure pump is on a stable, flat surface. Use rubber feet or a soft mat underneath.
  • Check for loose parts. If noise persists and is excessive, contact customer support.
Water backflow into pump
  • Pump placed below water level without check valve
  • Check valve faulty or installed incorrectly
  • Always place pump above water level or install a functional check valve.
  • Replace faulty check valve or ensure correct installation.
