5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

5.2. Initial Charging

5.3. Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then follow the on-screen prompts to shut down.
  • Sleep Mode: Briefly press the Power button to put the device into sleep mode and conserve battery. Press again to wake.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Navigation

Use the keypad and touchscreen (if applicable) to navigate the Windows CE 6.0 operating system interface. The 53-key VT keypad provides comprehensive input capabilities.

6.2. Barcode Scanning (2D Imager)

  1. Open the application that requires barcode input.
  2. Point the 2D imager window at the barcode you wish to scan.
  3. Press the scan trigger button. A red aiming pattern will appear.
  4. Position the aiming pattern over the entire barcode. A successful scan is typically indicated by a beep or LED flash.

6.3. Connectivity (Bluetooth & Wi-Fi)

6.3.1. Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Navigate to the Wireless Manager or Network Settings in the operating system.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi.
  3. Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  4. Enter the network password (if required) and connect.

6.3.2. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Go to Bluetooth settings in the operating system.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the Cipherlab 9700 and the device you wish to pair with.
  3. Search for available devices on the Cipherlab 9700.
  4. Select the target device from the list and follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing, entering a PIN if necessary.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning the Device

  • Turn off the device before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials.
