1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your ToyerBee 70mm Refractor Telescope. Designed for astronomy beginners, this portable telescope offers magnifications from 15X to 150X, making it suitable for observing celestial bodies like the Moon and planets. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper setup and safe operation.
2. Safety Information
- Never look directly at the sun through the telescope or its finder scope without a professional solar filter. Doing so can cause immediate and irreversible eye damage, including blindness.
- Ensure all components are securely fastened before and during use to prevent accidental damage or injury.
- Keep the telescope away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- Store the telescope in a clean, dry place with dust caps on all optical components.
3. Package Contents
Carefully unpack all components and verify against the list below. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.

Follow these steps to assemble your telescope. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.
Video 1: Detailed step-by-step guide demonstrating the assembly and initial setup of the ToyerBee 70mm Refractor Telescope, including tripod adjustment, telescope tube installation, finder scope attachment, diagonal mirror, eyepiece, Barlow lens, focuser adjustment, and smartphone adapter setup.
4.1. Tripod Assembly
- Extend the tripod legs to the desired height and secure them using the adjustment buckles.
- Attach the accessory tray to the center brace of the tripod for stability and storage of eyepieces.
4.2. Telescope Tube Installation
- Locate the mounting screw on the tripod head.
- Align the telescope optical tube with the mounting hole on the tripod head.
- Securely fasten the optical tube to the tripod by rotating the knob until it is tight.
4.3. Finder Scope Attachment
- Remove the thumb screws from the telescope main tube where the finder scope bracket attaches.
- Place the finder scope bracket onto the telescope tube, aligning the holes.
- Re-insert and tighten the thumb screws to secure the finder scope.
4.4. Diagonal Mirror and Eyepiece Installation
- Insert the diagonal mirror into the focuser tube at the end of the telescope. Tighten the small screw on the focuser to hold it in place.
- Insert the desired eyepiece (e.g., H20mm for lower magnification) into the diagonal mirror. Tighten the small screw on the diagonal mirror to secure the eyepiece.
4.5. Barlow Lens Installation (Optional)
For higher magnification, you can use the 3X Barlow lens:
- Insert the 3X Barlow lens into the diagonal mirror.
- Then, insert your chosen eyepiece (e.g., H6mm) into the Barlow lens.
- Secure both with the respective set screws.

4.6. Smartphone Adapter & Wireless Remote Setup
To capture images or view through your smartphone:
- Attach your smartphone to the phone adapter, ensuring it is securely clamped.
- Mount the phone adapter with your phone onto the eyepiece, aligning your phone's camera with the eyepiece lens. Tighten the adapter's screw to secure it.
- Turn on the wireless remote control and pair it with your smartphone via Bluetooth (look for 'AB Shutter3').
- Open your phone's camera app. You can now use the remote to take photos without touching the phone, minimizing shake.

5. Operating Your Telescope
5.1. Aligning the Finder Scope
The finder scope helps you locate objects quickly. It must be aligned with the main telescope:
- During daylight, point the main telescope at a distant, easily identifiable object (e.g., a tree top or building).
- Look through the main telescope's eyepiece and center the object in the field of view.
- Now, look through the finder scope. Use the adjustment screws on the finder scope bracket to move its crosshairs until the same object is centered.
- Once aligned, the finder scope will help you quickly point the main telescope to celestial objects at night.
5.2. Focusing
To achieve a clear image, slowly turn the focus knob located on the focuser tube until the image appears sharp. Different eyepieces and objects may require slight refocusing.
5.3. Observing Celestial Objects
Begin with the lowest magnification eyepiece (H20mm) to get a wider field of view and easily locate objects. Once the object is centered, you can switch to higher magnification eyepieces (H6mm) or use the Barlow lens for more detailed observation. Remember to refocus after changing eyepieces.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surface. For stubborn spots, use a small amount of optical cleaning fluid on the cloth, not directly on the lens.
- Dust Protection: Always keep dust caps on the objective lens, eyepieces, and diagonal mirror when not in use.
- Storage: Store the telescope in its original packaging or a protective case in a cool, dry environment to prevent dust accumulation and moisture damage.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Image is blurry or out of focus
- Adjust the focus knob slowly until the image is sharp.
- Ensure the correct eyepiece is fully inserted and secured.
- Check for condensation on the lenses; allow the telescope to acclimate to the ambient temperature.
7.2. Cannot find objects with the main telescope
- Verify that the finder scope is properly aligned with the main telescope (refer to Section 5.1).
- Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (H20mm) for a wider field of view.
7.3. Smartphone adapter not connecting to Bluetooth remote
- Ensure the remote control is powered on and within range of your smartphone.
- Check your phone's Bluetooth settings to confirm the remote ('AB Shutter3') is paired.
- Replace the remote's battery if necessary.
