3. Setup Instructions

  1. Install the Argon Capsule: Unscrew the capsule cup from the bottom of the system. Insert a Coravin Pure™ Argon Capsule into the cup, ensuring it is seated correctly. Screw the cup back onto the system until it is firmly tightened. A small hiss indicates the capsule is properly installed.
  2. Prepare the Wine Bottle: For natural corks, no special preparation is needed. For screw-top bottles, replace the original screw cap with a Coravin Screw Cap.
  3. Attach the Aerator (Optional): If desired, twist the Coravin Aerator onto the pour spout until secure.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Clamp the System: Place the Coravin system over the neck of the wine bottle. Ensure the SmartClamps securely grip the bottle. Press the clamp release to open the clamps, position the system, and then release the clamp release to secure it.
  2. Insert the Needle: Firmly press the handle down to insert the needle through the cork. Continue pressing until the needle is fully inserted.
  3. Pour the Wine: Tilt the bottle as if pouring normally. Briefly press and release the argon gas trigger to pressurize the bottle and initiate the wine flow. Release the trigger to stop the flow. Repeat short presses as needed to maintain a steady pour.
  4. Remove the System: Once the desired amount of wine is poured, tilt the bottle upright. Pull the handle upwards to slowly withdraw the needle from the cork. The cork will naturally reseal.
  5. For Screw-Top Bottles: When using Coravin Screw Caps, the process is similar. The needle will pierce the silicone membrane of the screw cap. After pouring, remove the system. The screw cap will reseal, allowing for preservation.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your Coravin system.

  • After Each Use: Rinse the spout with warm, clean water. Pay special attention to the SmartClamps and the needle well. Ensure the SmartClamps move up and down with ease.
  • Clear the Needle: After rinsing, press and release the trigger quickly to remove any water from inside the needle.
  • Wipe Dry: Wipe the system dry with a clean, soft cloth.
  • Important: Do not submerge the system in water. It is not dishwasher safe. Do not use detergents or abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Coravin Timeless Three Plus system, consider the following:

  • No Wine Flow: Ensure the argon capsule is properly installed and tightened. Check if the needle is fully inserted into the cork. Press the trigger firmly.
  • Slow Wine Flow: The needle might be partially clogged. Perform the cleaning steps for the needle. Ensure the bottle is tilted sufficiently.
  • Gas Leakage: Verify the argon capsule is securely tightened. If leakage persists, the capsule may be faulty or the system may require service.
  • Cork Does Not Reseal: This system is designed for natural corks. Synthetic corks or damaged natural corks may not reseal perfectly. Ensure the needle is withdrawn slowly and straight.
