Setup and Installation
The conversion process typically takes 20-30 minutes. You will utilize your crib's existing headboard and footboard.
- Prepare the Crib: Disassemble the crib, retaining the headboard and footboard. Ensure all original crib hardware is removed from these components.
- Attach Bed Rails to Headboard: Align one end of a wooden bed rail with the pre-drilled holes on the headboard. Secure it using the provided bolts, washers, and split washers. Repeat for the second bed rail on the opposite side of the headboard.
- Attach Bed Rails to Footboard: Align the open ends of the bed rails with the pre-drilled holes on the footboard. Secure them using the remaining bolts, washers, and split washers. Ensure all connections are tight and stable.
- Install Slats: Place the four slats evenly across the bed rails to support the mattress. Additional slats may be purchased separately for enhanced support, especially if a box spring is not used.
- Place Mattress: Position a full-size mattress onto the installed slats.

Operating and Usage
Once assembled, the converted full-size bed provides a stable and secure sleeping environment. The bed is designed to accommodate a standard full-size mattress. For optimal support and longevity, consider using a bunkie board or additional slats, especially if a box spring is not desired or compatible with your mattress type.

Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and integrity of your bed rails, wipe them with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish. Periodically check all hardware connections and tighten if any looseness is detected.
Troubleshooting
- Rails do not fit: Double-check your crib's model number against the compatibility list in the Introduction section. Ensure you have a Bassett convertible crib. Some cribs may require removal of small side posts from the crib sides to attach to the footboard; refer to your original crib manual if available.
- Bed feels unstable: Verify that all bolts and fasteners are securely tightened. Ensure the slats are properly positioned and evenly distributed. If using a mattress without a box spring, consider adding more slats or a bunkie board for increased stability.
- Railing split or damaged: This can occur from excessive force or exceeding the weight limit. Ensure the bed is used within its specified weight capacity (up to 600 lbs with additional slats). Contact customer support for replacement parts if damage occurs.
