1. Introduction

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The AS8800L requires three (3) 1.5V AA batteries (not included).

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
2. Slide the cover open or remove it according to the design.
3. Insert three 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

If the low battery indicator illuminates during operation, replace the batteries immediately to maintain accurate performance.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

• To power on the device, slide the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
• Allow approximately 20 seconds for the device to warm up before use.
• To power off the device, slide the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.

6.2 Gas Detection

1. After warm-up, position the flexible stainless steel probe near the area suspected of a gas leak.
2. Slowly move the probe around the area.
3. If a flammable gas is detected, the device will emit an audible alarm, and the leakage degree indicator lights will illuminate, indicating the concentration level. More lights indicate a higher concentration.
4. The response time to detect gas is instantaneous.

6.3 Adjusting Sensitivity

The device features adjustable sensitivity to adapt to different detection requirements and environments.

• Locate the sensitivity adjustment dial on the side of the device.
• Rotate the dial to increase or decrease the sensitivity. Higher sensitivity allows detection of lower gas concentrations.
• Adjust sensitivity as needed to avoid false alarms in areas with trace amounts of gas or to detect very small leaks.

7.1 Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.
• Ensure the sensor tip is free from dust and debris for optimal performance.

7.2 Storage

• When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
• Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Storage environment: 10~60℃, 0~90% RH.
