2.3 Initial Time Zone Setting

While the watch automatically synchronizes time, you will need to manually set your specific time zone. The watch supports four major time zone options: Pacific (P), Mountain (M), Central (C), and Eastern (E). Refer to the 'Operating' section for detailed instructions on setting the time zone.

3.3 Setting Alarm and Hourly Time Signal

The watch allows you to set an alarm for reminders, such as medication intakes or appointments. It also has an hourly time signal feature.

  • To access alarm settings, use the RC/ALM button (10 o'clock position) in conjunction with the SET button (8 o'clock position).
  • The voice-controlled operator menu will guide you through each step of setting the alarm.

3.4 Manual Radio Signal Calibration

While the watch automatically calibrates, you can manually initiate a signal search:

  • Press and hold the RC/ALM button (10 o'clock position) for about 3 seconds until the signal icon (represented by radiating waves) starts flashing on the display. This indicates the watch is searching for the atomic signal for calibration.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Life

The watch is powered by 1 x Japan Maxcell Lithium battery (included) and is designed for approximately 1 year of service life without requiring charging.

4.2 Cleaning and Care

  • Wipe the watch case and strap with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or strong magnetic fields.
  • The watch features a high-hardness tempered glass mirror, designed to be scrape-resistant, but care should still be taken to avoid direct impacts.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Watch Not Activating / Displaying 'SHIP'

If the watch display shows 'SHIP' or does not power on, it is likely in standby mode. Press and hold the '2 o'clock' (TIME) and '8 o'clock' (SET) buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds to activate it.

5.2 Voice Announcement is Too Low or Not Working

  • Ensure the watch is not in a low-power state. While the battery lasts approximately 1 year, a very weak battery might affect voice output.
  • Check if any settings have been inadvertently changed. A factory reset (if available and documented in a more advanced manual) might be necessary, but typically, the voice volume is fixed.
  • If the voice function completely stops, and the watch is activated, it may indicate an internal issue requiring professional service.

5.3 Time Inaccuracy

If the time displayed or announced is inaccurate:

  • Ensure the watch is in an area where it can receive the atomic signal, especially overnight when it typically synchronizes. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that might interfere with the signal.
  • Manually initiate a radio signal calibration by pressing and holding the RC/ALM button (10 o'clock position) for about 3 seconds until the signal icon flashes.
  • Verify that the correct time zone has been set.

5.4 Scratches on Watch Face

While the watch face is made of high-hardness tempered glass designed to be scrape-resistant, deep scratches can occur from abrasive contact. To minimize scratches, avoid placing the watch face down on rough surfaces or in direct contact with sharp objects.
