4.1 Light Panel Components

5. Setup Guide

5.1 Assembling the Light Stands

  1. Unfold the legs of the light stand until they are fully extended and stable.
  2. Loosen the locking knobs on the stand sections and extend the center column to the desired height.
  3. Tighten all locking knobs securely to prevent the stand from collapsing.

5.2 Attaching the LED Panels

  1. Mount the GVM 880RS LED panel onto the top stud of the light stand.
  2. Secure the panel by tightening the mounting screw on the light panel's bracket.
  3. Adjust the angle of the light panel using the tilt adjustment knobs on the bracket. The panel supports 360-degree rotation when mounted sideways, offering flexible positioning.

5.3 Connecting Power

The GVM 880RS offers two power supply methods:

  • AC Power: Connect the included AC adapter to the light's adapter interface, then plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
  • Battery Power: Insert two compatible NP-F550 or NP-F970 Li-ion batteries (not included) into the battery tanks on the back of the light panel. Ensure correct polarity.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

Flip the ON/OFF switch located on the control panel to power the light on or off.

6.2 Manual Control

Use the physical buttons and knobs on the light panel to adjust settings.

  • Brightness Adjustment: Rotate the brightness control knob to adjust the light intensity from 0% to 100%.
  • Mode Selection: Press the mode selection button to cycle through the available modes: CCT (Color Correlated Temperature), HSI (Hue, Saturation, Intensity), and Scene modes.
  • CCT Mode: In CCT mode, rotate the color temperature knob to adjust the color temperature between 3200K (warm light) and 5600K (cool light).
  • HSI Mode (RGB): In HSI mode, rotate the color temperature knob to adjust the hue (color) and the brightness knob to adjust saturation and intensity.

6.3 App Control (Bluetooth)

The GVM 880RS can be controlled wirelessly via a mobile application.

  1. Download the App: Search for "GVM" in your mobile device's app store and install it.
  2. Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
  3. Connect to Lights: Open the GVM app. The app will automatically search for nearby GVM lights. Select the lights you wish to control. Each light is identified by its MAC address.
  4. Control Settings: Within the app, you can adjust brightness, color temperature, hue, and saturation.
  5. Scene Modes: The app provides access to 8 pre-programmed lighting scenes: TV, Candle, Police Car, Lightning, Paparazzi, Disco, Party, and Broken Light Bulb. Select a scene to apply its effect.
  6. Master/Slave Control: Set one light as the master within the app. Other GVM lights of the same series can then be set as slave units, allowing the master light to control all connected slave lights simultaneously.

  • Light not turning on:

    • Verify the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • App not connecting to lights:
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
    • Make sure the lights are powered on and within Bluetooth range.
    • Restart the GVM app and try reconnecting.
    • If multiple lights are present, ensure you are selecting the correct light by its MAC address in the app.
  • Inconsistent light output:
    • Check for loose connections if using AC power.
    • If using batteries, ensure both batteries have sufficient charge and are functioning correctly.
