SWEBO TCS20 Modular Mini View Technology Camera

Instruction Manual

1. Product Overview

The SWEBO TCS20 is a modular mini view technology camera designed for precision photography. Its innovative design allows for quick assembly and disassembly without tools, offering high accuracy through its screw mechanism and worm gear structure. It provides extensive control over pan, tilt, and shift movements for versatile photographic applications.

2. Setup and Assembly

The TCS20 camera system is comprised of four primary modules: the focusing rail module, the pan & tilt module, the shift module, and the bellows module. Assembly is designed to be tool-free and intuitive.

2.1. Module Identification

  • Focusing Rail Module: The base unit providing linear movement for focusing.
  • Pan & Tilt Module: Allows for angular adjustments of the camera.
  • Shift Module: Enables horizontal and vertical displacement of the camera.
  • Bellows Module: Connects the lens panel to the camera body, providing light-tight extension.

2.2. Assembly Steps

  1. Attach the focusing rail module to a stable tripod using the standard tripod mount.
  2. Secure the shift module onto the focusing rail module. Ensure it is firmly seated and locked into place.
  3. Mount the pan & tilt module onto the shift module.
  4. Connect the bellows module to the front standard of the camera system.
  5. Attach your compatible camera body to the rear standard of the bellows module.
  6. Mount your desired lens onto the front lens panel of the bellows module.

3. Operating the Camera

The TCS20 offers precise control over various camera movements through its integrated knobs and mechanisms.

3.1. Focusing Rail Adjustment

The focusing rail allows for fine-tuned adjustments to achieve critical focus. Rotate the large knob located at the end of the focusing rail to move the entire camera assembly forward or backward along the rail. This movement is controlled by a trapezoidal precision screw for high accuracy.

3.2. Pan and Tilt Movements

The pan & tilt module enables angular adjustments of the camera. The pan angle can be adjusted up to ±20 degrees, and the tilt angle up to ±15 degrees. Use the dedicated knobs on the pan & tilt module to execute these movements. The worm gear mechanism ensures smooth and precise control.

3.3. Shift Movements

The shift module provides horizontal and vertical displacement. The horizontal shift range is ±30 mm, and the vertical shift range is ±25 mm. These movements are controlled by separate knobs, allowing for perspective control and distortion correction directly on the camera.

3.4. Lens Panel and Camera Body Bayonet Mounts

The system includes free Copal 0# Lens Panel and M39 Lens Panel, along with free camera body bayonets mounts, allowing for broad compatibility with various lenses and camera bodies.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SWEBO TCS20 camera system.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the metal surfaces. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Bellows Care: Handle the bellows gently. Avoid creasing or puncturing. If dust accumulates, use a soft brush or compressed air to remove it.
  • Lubrication: The precision screw and worm gear mechanisms are designed for smooth operation. Avoid applying external lubricants unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer, as this could attract dust and impair function.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a dry, dust-free environment. If storing for extended periods, consider disassembling the modules and storing them in their original packaging or a protective case.

5. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your SWEBO TCS20 camera system.

5.1. Stiff Adjustments

  • Issue: Knobs for focusing, pan/tilt, or shift feel stiff or difficult to turn.
  • Solution: Check for any debris or foreign objects obstructing the mechanism. Ensure all locking levers or screws are disengaged before attempting to adjust. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

5.2. Loose Connections

  • Issue: Modules feel wobbly or not securely connected.
  • Solution: Re-check the assembly steps. Ensure each module is fully seated and its locking mechanism (if applicable) is engaged. The modular design allows for quick assembly, but proper engagement is crucial for stability.

5.3. Image Quality Issues (Not Camera Body Related)

  • Issue: Light leaks or uneven illumination in images.
  • Solution: Inspect the bellows for any tears, holes, or improper attachment to the lens panel or camera body. Ensure the bellows is fully extended and properly sealed during use.
