1. Introduction

The Vivlex LEF-333 is a compact analog compressor effects pedal designed for electric guitar and bass. This pedal provides a smooth, sustained sound, suitable for both clean tones and lead playing. It features true bypass circuitry and a durable metal chassis.

3. Setup

3.1 Power Supply

The LEF-333 pedal requires a 9V DC power adapter with a center-negative polarity (adapter not included). This pedal cannot be powered by batteries. Connect the power adapter to the DC 9V input jack on the pedal.

3.2 Connections

Connect your instrument (electric guitar or bass) to the 1/4-inch MONO IN jack. Connect the 1/4-inch MONO OUT jack to your amplifier or the next pedal in your signal chain.

4. Operating Instructions

The LEF-333 pedal features three control knobs and a toggle switch to shape your sound:

  • LEVEL Knob: Controls the overall output volume of the effect. Turn clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.
  • COMP Knob: Adjusts the intensity of the compression effect. Higher settings result in more compression and sustain.
  • TONE Knob: Controls the brightness or darkness of the compressed sound. Turn clockwise for a brighter tone, counter-clockwise for a darker tone.
  • NORMAL/TREBLE Switch: Selects between two compression modes.
    • NORMAL Mode: Provides standard compression.
    • TREBLE Mode: Emphasizes high frequencies, resulting in a sharper and more articulate sound.

To engage the effect, press the footswitch. The LED indicator will illuminate. Press the footswitch again to bypass the effect (true bypass).

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Vivlex LEF-333 pedal:

  • Keep the pedal clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid exposing the pedal to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LEF-333 pedal, consider the following:

  • No Power: Ensure you are using a 9V DC center-negative power adapter. Check that the adapter is securely connected to both the pedal and a working power outlet.
  • No Sound: Verify all audio cables are correctly connected to the input and output jacks. Check the instrument, amplifier, and other pedals in your signal chain. Ensure the pedal is engaged (LED illuminated).
  • Unwanted Noise: Ensure all connections are secure. Try using a different power supply or power outlet to rule out electrical interference.
  • Effect Not Working: Check the settings of the LEVEL, COMP, and TONE knobs. Ensure the NORMAL/TREBLE switch is in the desired position.

Important: Unplug the DC adapter when not using the product or during thunderstorms to prevent potential damage.
