Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and security of your access control system. Please follow these instructions carefully.
Wiring Diagram

Refer to the wiring diagram above for connecting all components. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly matched according to the labels on each device.
- Access Controller Connections: Connect the access controller to the power supply and the lock as shown. Pay attention to +12V, GND, and lock control wires.
- Power Supply Connections: The power supply unit converts AC input to DC12V for the system. Connect it to the access controller and the electromagnetic lock.
- Electromagnetic Lock Connections: The magnetic lock connects to the power supply. It operates in NC (Normally Closed) mode, meaning it locks when powered and unlocks when power is cut.
- Exit Button Connections: Connect the exit button to the access controller to allow authorized egress from the secured area. It supports both NC and NO modes.
Mounting the Components

- Access Control Keypad: Mount the keypad at a convenient height near the door. Ensure it is securely fastened. Given its IP68 rating, it can be installed outdoors.
- Magnetic Lock: Install the magnetic lock on the door frame and the armature plate on the door itself. Ensure proper alignment for maximum holding force. The lock is surface-mounted.
- Power Supply: Mount the power supply unit in a secure, dry location, preferably indoors, close to the main power source and other components.
- Exit Button: Install the exit button on the inside of the door, allowing easy exit.
Operating Instructions
The KUMU F103 system supports 2000 users and offers three methods for door access.
Adding Users
- Enter Programming Mode: Press * then enter the master password (default is 123456), then press #.
- Add RFID Card User: In programming mode, press 1, then present the RFID card to the keypad. The keypad will beep to confirm.
- Add Password User: In programming mode, press 2, then enter a 4-6 digit password, press #, re-enter the password, then press # again.
- Add Card + Password User: In programming mode, press 3, then present the RFID card, then enter a 4-6 digit password, press #, re-enter the password, then press # again.
- Exit Programming Mode: Press * to exit.
Deleting Users
- Enter Programming Mode: Press * then enter the master password, then press #.
- Delete Single User: Press 4, then enter the user ID (if known) or present the RFID card to be deleted.
- Delete All Users: Press 5 (use with caution, this will remove all programmed users).
- Exit Programming Mode: Press * to exit.
Accessing the Door
- Using RFID Card: Present your registered RFID keyfob to the keypad. The door will unlock.
- Using Password: Enter your registered 4-6 digit password on the keypad, then press #. The door will unlock.
- Using Card + Password: Present your registered RFID keyfob, then enter your password, then press #. The door will unlock.
- Using Exit Button: Press the exit button from inside to unlock the door for egress.
Doorbell Function
Press the doorbell button on the keypad to activate the wired doorbell output.
Maintenance
- Regularly clean the keypad surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure all wiring connections remain secure.
- Periodically check the magnetic lock and armature plate for any debris or misalignment that could affect its holding force.
- For outdoor installations, ensure the keypad's waterproof seal remains intact.
Troubleshooting
- System not powering on: Check the power supply connections and ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (110-260VAC). Verify the power supply output is DC12V.
- Door not unlocking:
- Ensure the correct RFID card or password is being used.
- Check the wiring between the keypad, power supply, and magnetic lock.
- Verify the magnetic lock is receiving power and is not obstructed.
- Confirm the lock is in NC mode (locked when powered).
- RFID card not recognized: Ensure the card is correctly registered in the system. Check the card reading distance.
- Keypad unresponsive: Check power connections. If the keypad is completely unresponsive, a reset might be necessary (refer to advanced programming instructions, not covered here).
- Magnetic lock not holding: Check for proper alignment between the lock and armature plate. Ensure there is no gap or debris. Verify the power supply is providing sufficient current (380mA ~ 500mA).
