1. Introduction

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Base Unit Installation

  1. Place the base unit on a flat, stable surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  2. Connect the AC adapter to the base unit's power jack and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the base unit and the other end to your telephone wall jack.
  4. Connect the coiled handset cord to the corded handset and the HANDSET jack on the base unit.

4.2 Cordless Handset Setup

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the cordless handset.
  2. Insert the two supplied AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.
  4. Place the cordless handset on its charging cradle. Ensure the AC adapter for the charger is plugged into an electrical outlet. The charge indicator on the handset should illuminate.
  5. Allow the handset to charge for at least 7 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Lift the corded handset or press TALK on the cordless handset. Dial the number.
  • To Answer a Call: Lift the corded handset or press TALK on the cordless handset.
  • To End a Call: Place the corded handset back on the base or press OFF on the cordless handset.

5.2 Using the Answering Machine

  • Turn On/Off: Press ANSWER ON/OFF on the base unit.
  • Play Messages: Press PLAY on the base unit.
  • Erase Messages: During message playback, press ERASE/FLASH on the base unit.

5.3 Call Blocking

  • To Block a Number (during a call or after a call from Caller ID list): Press the CALL BLOCK button on the base unit. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.
  • To Block a Number (manually): Access the Call Block menu through the handset or base unit menu, then enter the number.

5.4 Phonebook

  • Add Entry: Press MENU on the handset or base, navigate to Phonebook, then Add New Entry.
  • Dial from Phonebook: Press PHONEBOOK (or navigate via MENU), select the desired entry, then press TALK.

5.5 Intercom

  • To Call Handset from Base: Press LOCATOR/INTERCOM on the base unit.
  • To Call Base from Handset: Press INTERCOM on the cordless handset.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid spraying cleaning liquids directly onto the unit.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Use only the specified rechargeable batteries.
  • If the handset will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

7. Troubleshooting

Answering machine not recording messages.Ensure the answering machine is turned ON. Check if the memory is full; delete old messages if necessary.
Cannot block calls.Ensure Caller ID service is active with your telephone provider. Follow the correct procedure for blocking numbers as described in section 5.3.
