Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. It is recommended to have installation performed by a qualified professional if you are unfamiliar with automotive electrical systems.
Required Tools (Not Included):
- Wrench set
- Wire strippers/crimpers
- Electrical tape or heat shrink tubing
- Drill (if new mounting holes are required)
- Wiring harness (recommended for safe and easy installation)
Installation Steps:
- Plan Mounting Location: Determine the desired location for your LED pods (e.g., bumper, ditch light brackets, roof rack). Ensure the location provides clear light projection and does not obstruct vehicle sensors or other lights.
- Secure Mounting Brackets: Attach the stainless steel mounting brackets to the LED pods using the provided screws. Then, secure the brackets to your chosen vehicle location. Ensure they are tightened securely to prevent vibration.
- Wiring (Wiring Harness Recommended):
- Connect the positive (+) wire from the LED pod to the positive (+) wire of your wiring harness or power source.
- Connect the negative (-) wire from the LED pod to the negative (-) wire of your wiring harness or ground.
- If using a wiring harness, connect it to your vehicle's battery and a switch according to the harness manufacturer's instructions. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Test Functionality: Before finalizing all connections and tidying up wires, test the LED pods to ensure they illuminate correctly.
- Adjust Beam Angle: Loosen the mounting bracket bolts slightly to adjust the beam angle to your preference, then re-tighten securely.

Operating Instructions
Once properly installed and wired to a switch, operating your AKD Part LED pods is straightforward:
- Power On: Activate the switch connected to your LED pods. The lights will illuminate instantly.
- Power Off: Deactivate the switch to turn off the LED pods.
Ensure your vehicle's engine is running when operating the lights for extended periods to avoid draining the battery.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your LED pods, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Cleaning: Clean the lens and housing periodically with a soft cloth and mild soap solution to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the lens.
- Inspect Wiring: Periodically check all wiring connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Secure any loose connections and repair damaged wiring promptly.
- Check Mounting: Ensure all mounting bolts and brackets remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary to prevent vibration and potential damage.
- Ventilation: Ensure the heat sinks on the back of the pods are free from obstructions to allow for efficient heat dissipation.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your LED pods, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Lights Not Turning On:
- Check all wiring connections for proper contact and tightness.
- Verify the power source is active and providing the correct voltage (9-30V DC).
- Inspect the fuse in your wiring harness (if applicable) and replace if blown.
- Ensure the switch is functioning correctly.
- Lights Are Dim or Flickering:
- Check for loose or corroded connections, especially ground connections.
- Ensure the vehicle's battery voltage is stable and within the operating range.
- Clean the lens if it's dirty, as accumulated grime can reduce light output.
- Moisture Inside the Lens:
- While the pods are IP68 rated, extreme temperature changes can sometimes cause condensation. This usually dissipates on its own.
- If persistent, check the rubber seals around the lens for proper seating and damage.
