The BLACK+DECKER BXAC50E Evaporative Cooler is designed to refresh and humidify the air in your home, improving overall air quality. This versatile unit features three adjustable speeds and three operating modes (Normal, Breeze, and Night) to provide optimal airflow intensity. Setup and Installation
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the evaporative cooler from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow. The integrated wheels allow for easy positioning.
- Filling the Water Tank:
- Locate the removable water tank at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Gently pull out the water tank.
- Fill the tank with clean, cool water up to the "Max" indicator line. The tank has a 5-liter capacity.
- Carefully slide the water tank back into its position until it clicks securely.

- Using Ice Packs (Optional for Enhanced Cooling):
- The unit comes with four ice containers. Freeze these ice containers in a freezer until solid.
- Open the top lid of the evaporative cooler.
- Place the frozen ice containers into the designated slots within the water tank area.
- Close the top lid securely.

- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet (240V AC).

Operating Instructions
The BLACK+DECKER BXAC50E can be operated using the touch control panel on top of the unit or the included remote control.

Functions
- Power On/Off: Press the Power button to turn the unit on or off.
- Speed Adjustment: Press the Speed button repeatedly to cycle through the three available fan speeds: Low, Medium, and High.
- Cooling/Humidification: Press the Cool button to activate the evaporative cooling and humidification function. Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Operating Modes: Press the Wind Type button to select between Normal, Breeze, and Night modes.
- Normal Mode: Constant airflow at the selected speed.
- Breeze Mode: Simulates natural wind with varying fan speeds.
- Night Mode: Operates at a lower, quieter speed for undisturbed sleep.
- Oscillation: Press the Swing button to activate or deactivate the oscillating function, which distributes air across a wider area.
- Timer Function: Press the Time button repeatedly to set the operating timer from 0.5 hours up to 7.5 hours. The unit will automatically turn off once the set time has elapsed.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your evaporative cooler.
- Cleaning the Water Tank:
- Before cleaning, always unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- Remove the water tank as described in the "Setup" section.
- Empty any remaining water.
- Clean the tank with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Allow the tank to air dry completely before reinserting it.
- Recommendation: Clean the water tank at least once a week, or more frequently if used continuously, to prevent mold and mildew buildup.
- Cleaning the Air Filter:
- The unit has an air filter located at the back.
- Carefully remove the filter.
- Clean the filter with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, rinse with water and mild soap, then allow to dry completely.
- Reinsert the dry filter.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank and filter are clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
