1. Introduction
The TRISCO U508 is a universal Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) relearn tool designed to activate individual TPMS sensors and facilitate the relearning process for various vehicle makes and models. This tool supports both 315MHz and 433MHz TPMS systems, enabling efficient tire pressure sensor resets after tire rotations, sensor replacements, or other maintenance procedures.

2. Compatibility
The U508 TPMS relearn tool is compatible with a wide range of vehicles, including most cars, SUVs, and pickups equipped with 315MHz or 433MHz TPMS sensors. It is specifically designed for GM, Jeep, Ford, Chrysler, and Dodge vehicles, among others.
Important Compatibility Notes:
- Vehicle Specificity: The U508 supports specific vehicle models and years. If your vehicle model is not listed in the compatibility charts or the year does not match, the tool may not be compatible. Always verify your vehicle's compatibility before use.
- Sensor Type: This tool is designed to reset tire sensors; it does not program new sensors. Ensure your sensors are original OEM or properly programmed aftermarket sensors. The U508 will not work with unprogrammed or incorrectly programmed sensors.
- Frequency: Confirm your vehicle's TPMS sensor frequency (315MHz or 433MHz). For example, some 2013 Ford Escape models use 315MHz, which is not compatible with the U508, while 2013-2014 Ford Escape 433MHz models are compatible.
- Vehicle Size: The U508 is not intended for heavy trucks with more than four tires.

3. Setup
Battery Installation:
The TRISCO U508 TPMS relearn tool requires one (1) 9V battery for operation. The battery is not included in the package.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the U508 tool.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert a new 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Always use a new 9V battery. The strength of the battery voltage directly impacts the signal strength and effectiveness of the tool.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to perform a TPMS relearn procedure using the TRISCO U508 tool:
- Set Vehicle to TPMS Learning Mode:
Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions on how to enter TPMS learning mode. This process varies by car brand and model. Typically, the vehicle will indicate it has entered learning mode by honking twice. If your car does not enter relearn mode, consult your car's manual or a qualified mechanic. - Initiate Relearn Process (Front Left Tire):
Begin the relearn process at the front left tire. Point the antenna of the U508 tool at the correct position near the tire valve stem. Press and release the power button on the tool. Once the vehicle's speaker chirps (indicating successful sensor activation), move to the next tire. - Follow Tire Order:
Proceed to reset the TPMS sensors in the following sequence: Front Left, Front Right, Rear Right, Rear Left. - Complete Relearn:
After all sensors have been reset in the correct order, the vehicle will typically honk twice, signifying that the TPMS relearn process is complete.

Correct Antenna Positioning:
Proper positioning of the U508 tool's antenna is critical for successful sensor activation. Ensure the antenna is pointed directly at the tire valve stem, parallel to the valve, as shown in the image below. The front tires should be straight during this process.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the tool clean and free from dirt, grease, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Storage: Store the U508 in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery when the tool's signal strength appears weak or if the battery indicator light (if present) suggests low power.
6. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Tool Does Not Work / Sensor Not Activating:
- Compatibility Check: Verify that your vehicle's make, model, and year are listed as compatible with the U508 tool. Refer to the compatibility charts in Section 2.
- Sensor Programming: Ensure that your TPMS sensors are properly programmed. The U508 is a relearn tool, not a programming tool.
- Battery Condition: Replace the 9V battery with a new one. A weak battery can result in insufficient signal strength.
- Antenna Position: Confirm the antenna is correctly positioned, pointed directly at the valve stem and parallel to it.
- Vehicle Learning Mode: Double-check that your vehicle is successfully in TPMS learning mode before attempting to activate sensors.
- No Sound from Tool:
The TRISCO U508 tool itself does not emit sound. Successful sensor activation is indicated by your vehicle's horn chirping or other dashboard notifications, as described in your vehicle's owner's manual.
