This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your BESTEASY Thermal Label Printer (Model G42W). It utilizes thermal printing technology, eliminating the need for ink or toner.

Setup

1. Connecting the Printer

  1. Connect the power adapter to the printer's power port and then plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the printer to your computer. If using a Mac with USB-C ports, use the provided Type-C adapter.
  3. Turn on the printer using the power switch located at the back. The green indicator light on the top panel should illuminate, indicating normal working status.

2. Loading Labels

The BESTEASY Thermal Label Printer supports both fanfold (stack) and roll-type labels. Ensure labels are loaded correctly for optimal printing.

Loading Fanfold Labels:

  1. Ensure the printer is powered off.
  2. Locate the paper inlet slot at the back of the printer.
  3. Carefully feed the fanfold labels into the paper inlet, ensuring they are aligned straight.
  4. Open the printer cover and adjust the movable label guides inside to snugly hold the labels in position.
  5. Close the printer cover tightly.

Loading Roll-Type Labels:

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove the blue label roll holder from inside the printer.
  3. Insert the roll-type labels onto the holder, ensuring the labels unroll from the top.
  4. Place the loaded holder back into the printer.
  5. Adjust the movable label guides to hold the label roll securely and centrally.
  6. Feed the leading edge of the label through the print mechanism until it emerges from the front slot.
  7. Close the printer cover tightly.

3. Driver Installation and Paper Size Setting

The printer comes with a USB flash drive containing the necessary drivers and a detailed video tutorial for installation. Follow the steps below based on your operating system.

For Mac OS:

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into your Mac.
  2. Open the drive and navigate to the 'Printer Drivers' folder.
  3. Double-click the BESTEASY-BE-G42S-Mac-Driver.pkg file to start the installation. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. After installation, go to 'System Preferences' > 'Printers & Scanners'.
  5. Click the '+' button to add a new printer. Select 'BESTEASY BE-G42S' from the list.
  6. Once added, select the printer and click 'Options & Supplies'.
  7. Navigate to 'Printer Options' or 'Driver' tab to set the default paper size to 4.00"x6.00" (101mm x 152mm). Adjust print darkness and speed for optimal quality if needed.

For Windows:

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into your Windows PC.
  2. Open 'My Computer' or 'This PC' and access the USB drive.
  3. Locate and double-click the BESTEASY-BE-G42S_Label_Printer_Windows_Driver.exe file to run the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
  5. After installation, go to 'Control Panel' > 'Devices and Printers'.
  6. Right-click on the 'BE-G42S' printer icon and select 'Printer Properties' or 'Printing Preferences'.
  7. In the 'Page Setup' or 'Paper/Quality' tab, set the paper size to 4"x6" (101mm x 152mm). You may need to create a custom paper size if it's not listed.
  8. Adjust print darkness and speed settings in the 'Advanced' or 'Graphics' tab for desired print quality.

Operating the Printer

Printing a Label:

  1. Ensure the printer is connected and drivers are installed.
  2. Open the document or application from which you wish to print (e.g., PDF viewer, shipping software).
  3. Select 'Print' from the file menu.
  4. Choose 'BESTEASY BE-G42S' as your printer.
  5. Verify that the paper size is set to 4x6 inches in the print dialog.
  6. Click 'Print'. The printer will automatically feed and print the label.

Tearing Off Labels:

After printing, gently tilt the printed label upwards and tear it off along the perforated edge. The printer is designed for easy tearing.
