4. Setup and Installation

The PUREPLUS WFS5300A system is designed for easy, quick-connect installation under your sink. Ensure you have adequate space and access to your cold water supply line.

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Turn off the main cold water supply. Open your kitchen faucet to drain any remaining water from the pipes.
  2. Mount the Filter Head: Use the provided installation template to mark the screw positions under your sink. Screw in the mounting screws, leaving approximately 1/3 inch exposed. Hang the filter head securely on the screws.

  4. Connect the Inlet Hose: Disconnect your faucet's cold water supply hose from the cold water supply valve. If your valve interface is 3/8" in diameter, you can directly connect the system's inlet hose. If it's 1/2", use the provided 3/8"-1/2" adapter. Ensure the O-ring is in position and apply Teflon tape (7 times clockwise) if needed for a secure seal. Connect the inlet hose to the cold water supply valve.
  5. Connect the Outlet Hose: Connect the faucet's cold water hose to the filtration system's outlet hose. Ensure all connections are hand-tightened, then use an adjustable wrench for a final snug fit. Do not overtighten.
  6. Insert Filter Cartridge: Align the filter cartridge with the filter head and twist it into place until it locks securely.
  7. Turn on Water Supply: Slowly turn on the cold water supply valve. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, tighten connections as needed.
  8. Flush the System: Open your kitchen faucet and let the water run for 5 minutes to flush the new filter system. This conditions the filter and removes any carbon fines.
