Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the digital caliper from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
2. Battery Installation:
   • Locate the battery compartment on the back of the LCD display unit.
   • Slide open the battery cover.
   • If present, remove the plastic insulation tab from the pre-installed battery.
   • Insert one LR44/AG13 1.5V battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
   • Close the battery cover securely.

   Note: Two spare batteries are included for future replacement.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off:
   • The caliper automatically turns on when the slider is moved.
   • To manually turn off, press the red "OFF" button.
   • The caliper will automatically shut off after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
2. Unit Conversion:
   • Press the blue "mm/inch" button to switch the display between millimeter (mm) and inch (in) units.

3. Zero Calibration:
   • Ensure the measuring jaws are completely closed and clean.
   • Press the yellow "ZERO" button. The display should show "0.00" (for inches) or "0.0" (for millimeters).
   • This function allows for setting a new zero point at any position, useful for differential measurements.
4. Measurement Methods:
   • External Measurement: Use the long jaws to measure the outer dimensions of objects.
   • Internal Measurement: Use the top jaws to measure the inner dimensions of objects.
   • Depth Measurement: Extend the depth rod (located at the end of the sliding jaw) into a hole or recess to measure its depth.
   • Step Measurement: Use the step measuring face (located at the end of the fixed jaw) to measure step dimensions between two surfaces.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the caliper with a clean, dry, soft cloth after each use. Do not use solvents, harsh chemicals, or immerse the device in water, as this can damage the electronic components.
• Storage: Store the caliper in its protective case when not in use. Keep it in a dry, clean environment, away from direct sunlight, dust, and extreme temperatures.
• Battery Replacement: When the LCD display becomes dim, flickers, or shows inconsistent readings, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.

Troubleshooting

• Inaccurate Readings:
  • Ensure the measuring jaws are clean and free of any debris or dust particles.
  • Perform a zero calibration by closing the jaws completely and pressing the "ZERO" button.
  • Check the battery level; replace if the battery is low.
• Display Not Working:
  • Verify that the battery is correctly installed and oriented.
  • Replace the battery with a fresh LR44/AG13 1.5V battery.
