1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

4. Setup Guide

4.1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

1. Carefully unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials, labels, and stickers.
2. Wash the stainless steel carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
4. Before first use, run a full brewing cycle with only water to clean the internal components. Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line, place the empty filter basket and carafe, and start a brew cycle. Discard the water after the cycle.

4.2. Placement

Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Brewing Coffee

1. Open the lid of the water reservoir and fill it with fresh, cold water to your desired level, using the water level indicator. Do not exceed the MAX line.
2. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level measuring spoon (provided) per cup.
3. Close the lid securely. Ensure the stainless steel carafe is properly placed on the warming plate.
4. Plug the coffee maker into a 110V electrical outlet.
5. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.
6. The drip-stop feature allows you to pause brewing and pour a cup of coffee before the cycle is complete. Simply remove the carafe, and the flow will stop. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
7. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' function, maintaining the coffee's temperature for up to 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, the appliance will automatically shut off for energy efficiency.

5.2. Programming the Brew Time

You can program the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time up to 24 hours in advance.

1. Prepare the coffee maker with water and coffee grounds as described in Section 5.1.
2. Press the 'PROG' button. The LED display will show 'PROG' and the time will flash.
3. Use the 'HOUR' and 'MINUTE' buttons to set your desired delayed start time.
4. Press the 'PROG' button again to confirm the programmed time. The 'PROG' indicator light will illuminate.
5. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.

5.3. Adjusting Coffee Intensity

The coffee maker allows you to adjust the intensity of your brew.

1. After adding water and coffee grounds, before starting the brew cycle, press the 'INTENSITY' button.
2. The display will show options for intensity (e.g., 'LIGHT', 'MEDIUM', 'STRONG'). Select your preferred intensity.
3. Proceed with starting the brew cycle as usual. The coffee maker will adjust the brewing process to achieve the selected intensity.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

6.1. Daily Cleaning

1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Remove the filter basket and permanent filter. Discard used coffee grounds.
3. Wash the carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
4. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
5. Do not immerse the coffee maker base in water or any other liquid.

6.2. Descaling

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 3-6 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

1. Pour 4 cups of white vinegar into the water reservoir.
2. Place an empty filter basket (without coffee grounds or filter) and the carafe on the warming plate.
3. Run a brew cycle. After 20 seconds, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for 30 minutes.
4. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the cycle complete.
5. Discard the vinegar solution.
6. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse out any remaining vinegar smell or taste.
