Operating Instructions
1. Preparing for Measurement:
- Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
- Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
- Avoid talking or moving during the measurement.
- Ensure you have rested for at least 5 minutes before taking a reading.
2. Applying the Arm Cuff:

Image: A person's arm with the MEDGRAM blood pressure cuff correctly positioned, showing the main unit on a table with a finger pressing the START/STOP button. The cuff is placed 2-3 cm above the elbow.

Image: A diagram illustrating the adjustable range of the cuff (22-40 cm / 8.7-15.7 inches) and how to ensure the "INDEX" mark falls within the "OK" range for a proper fit. It also shows examples of arm sizes the cuff can accommodate.
- Place the cuff on your bare upper arm, approximately 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 inches) above the elbow joint.
- Ensure the air tube runs down the center of your arm in line with your middle finger.
- Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm, but not too tightly. The index mark on the cuff should fall within the "OK" range.
- The artery mark on the cuff should be positioned over your brachial artery (on the inside of your arm).
3. Taking a Measurement:
- Select User A or User B by pressing the SET button briefly when the device is off. The user icon will toggle.
- Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will automatically inflate.
- Remain still and quiet during inflation and deflation.
- Once the measurement is complete, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the LCD.
- The reading will automatically be stored in the selected user's memory.
- Press START/STOP again to turn off the device, or it will automatically shut off after 1 minute of inactivity.
4. Memory Function:
The device stores up to 120 readings for each of the two users (240 total).
- With the device off, press the MEM button. The most recent reading will be displayed.
- Press MEM repeatedly to scroll through older readings.
- To switch between User A and User B memory, press the SET button while in memory recall mode.
- To clear all memory for the current user, press and hold the MEM button for 3 seconds while in memory recall mode.
Understanding Your Readings
The monitor displays three main values: Systolic pressure, Diastolic pressure, and Pulse rate.
- Systolic Pressure (SYS): The top number, representing the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
- Diastolic Pressure (DIA): The bottom number, representing the pressure in your arteries between beats, when your heart rests.
- Pulse Rate (PUL): Your heart rate, measured in beats per minute.
Irregular Heartbeat Detection:

Image: The MEDGRAM monitor display showing the irregular heartbeat symbol (a heart with a wavy line) indicating detection of an irregular pulse during measurement.
If an irregular heartbeat is detected during the measurement, a special symbol (a heart with a wavy line) will appear on the display. If this symbol appears frequently, consult your physician.
Hypertension Indicator Bar:
The vertical bar on the left side of the display indicates the blood pressure range according to WHO (World Health Organization) classification. Refer to the manual's diagram for specific ranges.
Advanced Technique for Accuracy:

Image: An illustration showing two advanced features of the MEDGRAM monitor: Movement Error Detection (indicated by a person icon) and Cuff Warming Detection (indicated by a checkmark and cuff icon), both designed to prevent inaccurate readings.
The monitor incorporates advanced techniques such as Movement Error Detection and Cuff Warming Detection to help ensure accurate readings by alerting you to potential issues during measurement.
Maintenance and Care
- Clean the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
