2. Safety Information

4. Setup and First Use
4.1 Unpacking
Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the appliance. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.
4.2 Rinsing the Appliance
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold tap water up to the MAX indication.
- Place the 1-cup pod holder without a coffee pod in the machine. Close the lid.
- Place a bowl under the coffee spout to collect the water.
- Press the On/Off button. The light will flash slowly.
- When the light illuminates continuously, press the 2-cup button to start the rinsing cycle.
- Repeat this process at least twice until the water reservoir is empty.
The appliance is now ready for use.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Coffee
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold tap water.
- Open the lid and place one or two Senseo coffee pods in the appropriate pod holder. Ensure the pod is centered.
- Close the lid firmly.
- Place one or two cups under the coffee spout.
- Press the On/Off button. The light will flash slowly during heating.
- Once the light illuminates continuously, the machine is ready.
- Press the 1-cup button for one cup or the 2-cup button for two cups. The machine will brew the coffee and then switch off automatically.

5.2 Coffee Intensity Selection
Your Senseo Original Plus allows you to choose between a long, delicate coffee or a short, intense coffee.
- Before pressing the 1-cup or 2-cup button, use the intensity selection slider (I) located on the drip tray.
- Slide to the left for a long, delicate coffee.
- Slide to the right for a short, intense coffee.
- Then, press the desired 1-cup or 2-cup button to brew.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, remove and rinse the used coffee pod(s).
- Empty and rinse the drip tray and coffee spout with warm water.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- The water reservoir, drip tray, and pod holders are dishwasher-safe.
6.2 Descaling
Regular descaling is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and extending the lifespan of your machine. Descale your Senseo machine every 3 months or after 400 cups, whichever comes first.
- Use a Senseo descaler or a citric acid-based descaler. Do not use mineral acids like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, or sulfamic acid.
- Follow the instructions provided with your descaling agent.
- Typically, this involves mixing the descaler with water, filling the reservoir, placing a used pod in the holder (to filter the solution), and running several brewing cycles.
- After descaling, rinse the machine thoroughly by running several cycles with fresh water only.
7. Troubleshooting
