2. Setup and Assembly

The Kywoo Tycoon 3D Printer is designed for quick and easy assembly, allowing users to set up the machine in minutes. The process typically involves connecting four wires and securing four screws.

2.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the 'What's in the Box' section are present and undamaged.

2.2 Main Assembly Steps

  1. Place the base unit on a stable surface.
  2. Attach the gantry frame to the base using the provided screws.
  3. Connect the necessary electrical wires as indicated in the included quick start guide.
  4. Install the filament holder.

A rigid metal frame minimizes vibration, contributing to improved print quality.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On and Interface

Connect the power cable and turn on the printer. The touch screen interface provides access to all printer functions. Select your preferred language from the settings menu.

3.2 Filament Loading

The Kywoo Tycoon supports various filament types including PLA, TPU, PETG, ABS, and HIPS. Load the filament onto the spool holder and feed it into the direct drive extruder. Ensure the filament is properly seated for smooth extrusion.

3.3 Automatic Bed Leveling

Utilize the automatic leveling function to ensure optimal bed adhesion and print quality. This feature simplifies the calibration process, making it user-friendly for both beginners and experienced users.

3.4 Printing via WiFi

The integrated WiFi function allows for remote control of the printer using compatible slicer software. Refer to the included SD card for detailed instructions on setting up and using the WiFi feature.

3.5 Resume Printing and Filament Detection

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Print Bed

After each print, allow the carbon-crystal silicon glass platform to cool down. Once cool, prints can be easily removed. Clean the print surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue and ensure good adhesion for subsequent prints.

4.2 Extruder and Nozzle Care

Periodically inspect the direct drive extruder and nozzle for any clogs or wear. If a clog occurs, use the provided unclogging tool to clear the path. Ensure the extruder gear is clean and free of filament debris.

4.3 Linear Rail and Belt Inspection

Check the linear rails and belts for any signs of wear or looseness. The dual Y-axis and dual Z-axis polishing bars, along with the linear rail structure, are designed for durability. Ensure belts are properly tensioned to prevent layer shifting and maintain print accuracy.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Kywoo Tycoon 3D Printer.

5.1 Print Quality Issues (Layer Shifting, Gaps)

  • Layer Shifting: Check the tension of the Y-axis and X-axis belts. If too tight or too loose, adjust them. Ensure the printer is on a stable surface.
  • Gaps in Prints: Verify retraction speed settings in your slicer software. A recommended retraction speed of 60mm/s can resolve this.

5.2 Nozzle Digging into Heatplate

If the nozzle frequently digs into the print bed, this may indicate an issue with bed leveling or firmware. Re-calibrate the automatic bed leveling. If the issue persists, check for available firmware updates or consider rolling back to a previous stable firmware version if a recent update caused the problem.

5.3 Touch Screen Malfunctions

If the touch screen glitches, flips upside down, or turns white, try rebooting the printer. Ensure the screen's connections are secure. If issues persist, contact customer support for potential firmware or hardware diagnosis.

5.4 Filament Jams/Failure to Purge

If the printer frequently jams or fails to purge filament, ensure the nozzle is clean and not clogged. Verify the hotend temperature is appropriate for the filament being used. Use the provided unclogging tool as needed.
