1. Product Overview

The Tuffcare Rhino Lift P450 is a full electric patient lift designed to assist caregivers in safely transferring individuals with limited mobility. 4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Tuffcare Rhino Lift P450:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface.
  2. Attach Mast to Base: Lock both rear casters on the base. Lift the mast and align it with the mounting bracket on the base. Secure it with the provided pins.
  3. Position Actuator: Position the hi-low actuator between the mast bracket, ensuring the motor faces you. Secure it with the appropriate fasteners.
  4. Mount Control Unit: Place the control unit onto the mounting bracket on the mast. Tighten the screw to secure it.
  5. Insert Battery Pack: Lift the handle on the back of the battery base and slide the battery pack into the control unit until it locks securely.
  6. Connect Cables: Plug the hand pendant cable and any other necessary cables into their appropriate positions on the control unit.

5. Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure all safety checks are complete and the lift is stable.

  1. Release Emergency Stop: Turn the red emergency stop button clockwise to release it. The lift is now ready for use.

6. Sling Usage

The Tuffcare Rhino Lift P450 is compatible with various slings for different patient needs. This model includes a Universal Sling (Medium).

Universal Sling (Medium)

The Universal Sling is designed for patients who are partially dependent and can hold their heads up and maintain upper body strength. It is suitable for bathing, toileting, cleaning, changing, and general transfers.

Sling Application - Divided Leg (Crossover)

This is the most common position, providing more security for the patient. It's ideal for bathing, toileting, and transfers from lying down to seating.

  1. Wrap the universal sling around the patient's torso.
  2. Move the back straps to the front.
  3. Wrap the other straps beneath their thighs and loop one strap through the other to create a crossover.
  4. Hang all straps onto the swivel bar hooks, balancing the weight.

Full Body Sling (for reference, not included with this model)

7. Charging Instructions

  1. Ensure the red emergency stop knob is released (turned clockwise). The lift will only charge when this knob is released.

  4. The control unit's display will indicate charging status.
  5. Remember, the lift will not function while it is charging. Always unplug the console before attempting to use the lift.
