3. Setup Instructions

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Connecting the USB Receiver

  1. Locate an available USB port on your device (e.g., Android TV Box, Smart TV, PC).
  2. Insert the 2.4G USB receiver into the USB port.
  3. The device should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.
  4. Once connected, the remote control is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Air Mouse Function

The MX3 Pro features a 6-axis somatosensory motion sensor, allowing you to control the cursor on your screen by moving the remote in the air.

  • Activation: The air mouse function is typically active by default upon connection.
  • Cursor Control: Move the remote in the direction you wish the cursor to move on the screen.
  • Clicking: Use the 'OK' button (center of the directional pad) to select items.
  • Deactivation/Calibration: If the cursor becomes erratic, press the 'Mouse' button (often depicted as a cursor icon) to temporarily disable the air mouse, then press it again to reactivate and recalibrate. Hold the remote steady on a flat surface during recalibration.

4.2. Mini Wireless Keyboard

The reverse side of the remote features a full QWERTY mini keyboard for convenient text input.

  • Typing: Simply flip the remote to the keyboard side and begin typing. The remote automatically switches between air mouse and keyboard modes.
  • Special Characters: Use the 'Fn' key in conjunction with other keys to access special characters or secondary functions.

4.3. IR Learning Function

The MX3 Pro can learn up to 5 keys from your existing IR remote control, allowing you to consolidate controls.

  1. Enter Learning Mode: Press and hold the 'TV' button on the MX3 Pro for approximately 3-5 seconds until the LED indicator light blinks rapidly.
  2. Position Remotes: Place your original IR remote control and the MX3 Pro head-to-head (IR emitters facing each other) within 1-3 cm distance.
  3. Select Key to Learn: On the MX3 Pro, press the button you wish to program (e.g., Power, Volume Up, Volume Down). The LED indicator will blink slowly.
  4. Transmit Signal: On your original IR remote, press and hold the corresponding button you want the MX3 Pro to learn. The MX3 Pro's LED will blink rapidly three times and then stay solid, indicating successful learning.
  5. Repeat: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for up to 4 additional keys.
  6. Exit Learning Mode: Press the 'TV' button again to exit learning mode. The LED indicator will turn off.

Important: The power button for your TV/Android TV box must be learned from your original IR remote if you wish to use the MX3 Pro to turn your device on/off.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MX3 Pro, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
    • Verify the 2.4G USB receiver is securely plugged into your device's USB port.
    • Try plugging the USB receiver into a different USB port.
  • Air mouse cursor is erratic or unresponsive:
    • Press the 'Mouse' button to disable and re-enable the air mouse function.
    • Place the remote on a flat surface for a few seconds to allow it to recalibrate.
  • IR learning function not working:
    • Ensure the original IR remote and MX3 Pro are positioned correctly (IR emitters facing each other, 1-3 cm apart).
    • Confirm the MX3 Pro is in learning mode (LED blinking rapidly).
    • Ensure the original remote's batteries are not depleted.
  • Cannot turn on/off TV or Android TV Box:
    • The power button for your specific device must be programmed using the IR learning function from your original remote. Refer to Section 4.3 for instructions.
