2. Setup
2.1 Initial Tuning
Your Hricane Ukulele comes with nylon strings, which may stretch and go out of tune frequently during the first few days of use. This is normal. Tune your ukulele before each playing session until the strings stabilize.
- Attach the included clip-on tuner to the headstock of your ukulele.
- Pluck each string individually. The standard tuning for a concert ukulele is G-C-E-A (from top to bottom string when held).
- Adjust the corresponding tuning peg until the tuner indicates the correct note and is centered.
- Repeat for all four strings. You may need to retune several times as the strings settle.
2.2 Attaching the Strap
The ukulele includes a strap for comfortable playing, especially when standing. Attach one end of the strap to the strap button located at the bottom of the ukulele body. The other end can be tied securely around the headstock, just above the nut, or attached to a second strap button if your model has one.
3. Operating
3.1 Holding the Ukulele
Hold the ukulele against your body, resting the back of the instrument against your chest. Support the neck with your left hand (if right-handed) and use your right arm to gently hold the body against you. The rounded edges of the Hricane UKS-2 enhance comfort during play.
3.2 Basic Strumming
Use your thumb or the included pick to strum the strings. Experiment with different strumming patterns and fingerpicking techniques to produce various sounds. The solid wood construction of the ukulele contributes to a rich and resonant tone.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Regularly wipe down your ukulele with the provided cleaning cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, and oils. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the glossy finish and wood.
4.2 String Care and Replacement
Nylon strings generally last a long time, but they can wear out or break. Replace strings as needed using the included extra set or new nylon ukulele strings. When replacing, change one string at a time to maintain tension on the neck and bridge.
4.3 Storage
Store your ukulele in its gig bag when not in use to protect it from dust, humidity changes, and accidental damage. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Ukulele Not Staying in Tune
- New Strings: Nylon strings stretch significantly when new. Continue tuning frequently (before and during playing) for the first few days until they stabilize.
- Tuning Pegs: Ensure the tuning pegs are not loose. The metal tuning gears are designed for stability, but extreme changes in temperature or humidity can affect tuning.
- Environmental Factors: Ukuleles are sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Avoid leaving your instrument in direct sunlight or in very dry/humid environments.
