1. Introduction and Overview

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Endless Summer DualHeat The Harris 38-inch Square Propane Gas Outdoor Fire Pit and Patio Heater. This unit features patented DualHeat Technology, combining a traditional gas fire pit with an infrared patio heater located below the mantel. It offers a total of 41,000 BTUs of heating power, providing both ambient flame and body warmth.

The versatile design allows for four modes of use:

• Fire Pit and Patio Heater Combined: Utilizes both the top burner and lower infrared heater for maximum warmth.

4. Setup and Assembly

The DualHeat Fire Pit is designed for straightforward setup. The mantel and control box are fully assembled. A 20 lb. propane tank (not included) is required for operation.

4.1 Propane Tank Installation

1. Locate the hidden tank compartment door on the side of the unit.
2. Open the door to access the interior.
3. Carefully place a 20 lb. propane tank (not included) into the compartment.
4. Connect the propane tank to the gas supply line according to the instructions provided on the tank and the unit's gas line. Ensure all connections are tight.
5. Close the compartment door securely.

4.2 Leveling the Unit

The unit is equipped with adjustable feet to ensure stable and level placement on uneven patio surfaces. Adjust each foot as necessary until the unit is stable and does not wobble.

5. Operating Instructions

Always follow the lighting instructions carefully. Ensure the propane tank valve is fully open before attempting to light the unit.

5.1 Lighting the Fire Pit

1. Ensure the control knob is in the "OFF" position.
2. Connect the propane cylinder (see Section 4.1).
3. Push and turn the control knob counter-clockwise to "LOW".
4. Press the igniter button repeatedly until the burner lights.
5. If ignition does NOT occur in 5 seconds, push and turn the control knob clockwise to "OFF". Wait 5 minutes, then repeat the lighting procedure.
6. Once lit, release the igniter button. Continue to hold the control knob in for 10-15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
7. Adjust the flame height by turning the control knob between "LOW" and "HIGH".

5.2 Activating the Patio Heater

The lower infrared patio heater can be activated independently of the main fire pit burner. Refer to the control panel for specific instructions on engaging the patio heater element.

5.3 Converting to Table

To convert the unit into a table, ensure the fire pit is completely off and cooled. Place the provided steel table insert over the fire bowl. The insert can be stored on the inside of the door when not in use.

• Cleaning: Clean the exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Ensure the unit is cool before cleaning.
• Protective Cover: Use the included protective cover when the unit is not in use to shield it from elements and prolong its lifespan.
• Fire Glass: Periodically inspect the fire glass for debris. Clean as needed.
• Gas Connections: Regularly check all gas connections for leaks using a soap and water solution. Tighten any loose connections.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your fire pit, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Ignition: Ensure the propane tank is full and its valve is fully open. Check all gas connections for tightness. Verify the igniter battery (1 AAA, 1.5V) is correctly installed and functional.
• Low Flame: Confirm the propane tank is not low on fuel. Ensure the gas supply line is not kinked or obstructed.
• Pilot Light Issues: If the pilot light does not stay lit, ensure you are holding the control knob in for the recommended 10-15 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
• Unusual Odor: If you detect a gas odor, immediately turn off the gas supply at the tank and ventilate the area. Do not attempt to light the unit. Contact a qualified service technician.
