3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packaging materials, including foam and adhesive tape.
- Inspect the appliance for any damage during transit. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
- Clean the interior and exterior of the fridge with a soft cloth and mild detergent before use.
3.2 Placement
- Choose a location with a strong, level floor capable of supporting the fridge when fully loaded.
- Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources (e.g., oven, radiator, fireplace).
- Ensure proper air circulation: allow at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space at the back and sides, and 10 inches (25.4 cm) at the top.
- This appliance is designed for freestanding installation only. Do not recess or build it into cabinetry.

3.3 Leveling the Appliance
It is crucial for the fridge to be level for proper operation. Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom of the unit by turning them clockwise to raise or counter-clockwise to lower. Use a spirit level to ensure the appliance is perfectly level.
3.4 Electrical Connection
- Plug the appliance into a dedicated, grounded 115V/60Hz AC outlet.
- Do not use a two-prong adapter or an extension cord.
- Allow the fridge to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.
3.5 Reversing the Door Swing (Optional)

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel

- Temperature Display: Shows the current internal temperature.
- Temperature Control Buttons (Up/Down Arrows): Used to increase or decrease the desired temperature.
- Light Control Button (Light Bulb Icon): Toggles the interior LED light on or off.
- Auto Lock Control Panel (Lock Icon): Activates or deactivates the control panel lock to prevent accidental changes.
4.2 Setting the Temperature
- Unlock the control panel if it is locked by pressing and holding the lock icon for a few seconds.
- Press the 'Up' or 'Down' arrow buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The temperature range is typically between 40°F (4°C) and 61°F (16°C).
- The display will flash the set temperature and then return to showing the actual internal temperature after a few seconds.
- For optimal wine storage, refer to the recommended temperature zones: White Wine (43-58°F), Red Wine (55-64°F), Drinks (54-61°F).

4.3 Interior Light
Press the light bulb icon on the control panel to turn the interior LED light on or off. The light is designed to illuminate the contents without generating heat.
4.4 Loading the Fridge
- Arrange bottles and cans to allow for proper air circulation.
- Do not overload the shelves, as this can impede cooling performance.
- The removable wire racks can be adjusted to accommodate different sizes of beverages.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1 Cleaning the Interior
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Remove all contents and shelves.
- Wash the interior surfaces and removable shelves with a solution of mild detergent and warm water.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as they can damage surfaces.
5.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For the glass door, use a glass cleaner. Avoid getting water on the control panel or electrical components.
5.3 Defrosting
The R.W.FLAME W5899S Beverage Fridge features an automatic defrost system. Frost buildup on the evaporator will melt and drain into a drip tray at the back of the unit, where it evaporates. No manual defrosting is typically required.
