Setup

1. Battery Installation

Your Tamagotchi Original requires one CR2032 coin cell battery, which is included. The battery is typically pre-installed. If the device does not power on, or if the screen is dim, the battery may need to be replaced.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
2. Use a small screwdriver to open the battery cover.
3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
4. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

2. Initial Activation and Time Setting

Upon first use or after a battery replacement, you will need to set the time.

1. Press the B button to display the clock.
2. While the clock is displayed, press and hold the A button, then press the C button. The clock will enter SET mode.
3. Use the A button to adjust the hour and the B button to adjust the minutes.
4. Press the C button to confirm the time and exit SET mode.

Operating Instructions

Your Tamagotchi device features three buttons: A (Select), B (Execute), and C (Cancel/Timer Mode). These buttons are used to navigate menus and interact with your digital pet.

Caring for Your Tamagotchi

• Feed: Select the fork and knife icon to feed your Tamagotchi. Choose between a meal or a snack. Be mindful not to overfeed.
• Lights: Select the light bulb icon to turn the lights on or off. Turn lights off when your Tamagotchi falls asleep.
• Play: Select the game controller icon to play a character game with your Tamagotchi. This helps improve its mood.
• Medicine: Select the syringe icon to give medicine to your Tamagotchi if it becomes sick.
• Bathroom: Select the toilet icon to flush after your Tamagotchi has used the bathroom. Neglecting this can lead to sickness.
• Health Check: Select the heart icon to check your Tamagotchi's age, weight, hunger, mood, and behavior.
• Discipline: Select the angry face icon to discipline your Tamagotchi if it bothers you when it is happy, fed, and clean.

Additional Functions

• Mute/Unmute: To mute the device, hold the A button and then press the C button. Repeat the process to unmute.
• Pausing Gameplay: To temporarily pause your Tamagotchi's growth and needs, enter the time setting mode (press B, then hold A and press C) and leave it on the clock adjustment screen. The game will be paused until you exit this screen.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the screen becomes dim or the device stops responding, it is likely time to replace the CR2032 battery. Follow the steps outlined in the "Battery Installation" section under Setup.

Cleaning

To clean your Tamagotchi, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or immerse the device in water.

Troubleshooting

• Screen is Dim or Unresponsive: This often indicates a low battery. Replace the CR2032 battery.
