Product Overview
The Geekpure 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis system utilizes a multi-stage filtration process to deliver exceptionally pure water. Each stage plays a crucial role in removing different types of impurities, ensuring comprehensive purification.
5-Stage Filtration Process
- 1st Stage: PP Sediment Filter
Reduces silt, sand, dirt, and sediment particles. - 2nd Stage: Granular Carbon Filter
Reduces chlorine, odors, and taste. - 3rd Stage: Carbon Block Filter
Further reduces chlorine, odors, and taste, and removes other organic chemicals. - 4th Stage: RO Membrane (75 GPD)
The core of the system, this semi-permeable membrane filters down to 0.0001 micron, effectively reducing arsenic, lead, fluoride, cadmium, heavy metals, and total dissolved solids (TDS). - 5th Stage: Post Carbon Filter
Provides a final polish to the water, improving taste and odor before it reaches your faucet.

Quality and Certification
Key components, including the tubing, quick push fittings, storage tank, and RO membrane, are NSF certified, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Wastewater Ratio
The system operates with a wastewater ratio of approximately 1:2, meaning for every gallon of pure water produced, about two gallons of wastewater are used to flush contaminants from the membrane.

Operating Instructions
Initial System Flush
Before consuming water from the system, it is crucial to perform an initial flush to remove any carbon fines and sanitize the system:
- Close the valve on top of the storage tank.
- Open the RO faucet and let water flow until it stops (this flushes the pre-filters).
- Close the RO faucet.
- Open the valve on the storage tank. Allow the tank to fill completely (this may take 1-2 hours).
- Once the tank is full, open the RO faucet and drain the tank completely. Discard this water.
- Repeat step 4 and 5 at least two more times. It is normal for some black carbon fines to appear in the water during the first few flushes.
- After the third flush, the system is ready for use.
Daily Use
The system will automatically fill the storage tank as water is drawn from the faucet. The tank holds 2.8 gallons of purified water, ensuring a readily available supply. The system operates silently and requires no electrical power.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance, primarily filter replacement, is essential to ensure the continued high performance and longevity of your Geekpure RO system.
Filter Replacement Schedule
Refer to the filter diagram for estimated filter lifespans. Actual lifespan may vary based on water quality and usage.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd Stage Filters (PP Sediment, Granular Carbon, Carbon Block): Replace every 6-12 months.
- 4th Stage (RO Membrane): Replace every 15-20 months.
- 5th Stage (Post Carbon Filter): Replace every 12-15 months.
Replacement filters are universally compatible and standard size, making them easy to source.
General Care
- Periodically check all connections for leaks.
- Keep the area around the system clean and dry.
- Ensure the storage tank is not subjected to extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your RO system.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low Water Flow from Faucet | Clogged filters, low water pressure, air in tank, kinked tubing. | Check and replace filters; ensure feed water pressure is 40-100 PSI; check for kinks in tubing; drain and refill tank to remove air. |
| Bad Taste or Odor | Expired carbon filters, new system (carbon fines), contaminated tank. | Replace carbon filters; perform additional system flushes; sanitize the storage tank if necessary. |
| Water Leaks | Loose connections, improperly seated O-rings, cracked housing. | Tighten all fittings; ensure O-rings are correctly placed and lubricated; inspect housings for damage. Push tubing all the way into quick-connect fittings. |
| System Not Producing Water | Closed shut-off valve, clogged RO membrane, low feed pressure. | Ensure all valves are open; replace RO membrane if clogged; verify adequate feed water pressure. |
