Safety Information
Warning: Do not exceed the maximum total load capacity of 875 kg for the entire shelving unit, or 175 kg per individual shelf, to ensure stability and prevent damage or injury.
- Always assemble the shelf on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure all components are securely interlocked before loading the shelves.
- Distribute weight evenly across each shelf to prevent tipping or structural strain.
- Do not climb on the shelving unit.
- Keep children and pets away from the shelving unit during assembly and when loaded.
- Consider anchoring the shelf to a wall for added stability, especially in areas prone to earthquakes or if storing very heavy items.
Components List
Before beginning assembly, verify that all parts are present and undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact customer support.
- Metal Uprights (Vertical support beams)
- Metal Crossbars (Horizontal support beams for shelves)
- MDF Shelves (5 pieces)
- Plastic Foot Caps (For base of uprights)
Setup and Assembly Instructions
The Relaxdays Metal Shelf features an interlocking system for easy assembly without the need for screws or bolts. A rubber mallet (not included) may be helpful for securing connections.
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Attach the plastic foot caps to the bottom ends of the metal uprights. This protects your floor and provides additional stability.

Step 2: Assemble the Frame
Begin by connecting the metal uprights with the crossbars using the interlocking system. Ensure that the tabs on the crossbars are fully inserted into the slots on the uprights. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap them into place for a secure fit.

Step 3: Install the Shelves
Once the frame is assembled, place the MDF shelves onto the assembled crossbars. The shelves can be adjusted to various heights by repositioning the crossbars in the uprights' slots.

Step 4: Multi-Purpose Configuration
This shelving unit can be assembled as one tall unit or divided into two smaller, separate units. To create two smaller units, assemble the frame in two halves, each with its own set of foot caps and top caps (if provided, otherwise ensure exposed edges are safe).

Operating Instructions
Loading the Shelf
Place items on the shelves, ensuring that the weight is distributed as evenly as possible. Avoid concentrating heavy loads in one small area. The maximum load per shelf is 175 kg, and the total maximum load for the entire unit is 875 kg.

Adjusting Shelf Height
To adjust the height of a shelf, carefully unload the shelf. Then, gently lift the crossbars out of their current slots and reposition them into the desired slots on the uprights. Ensure all four crossbars for a single shelf are at the same height and securely interlocked before reloading.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down metal parts with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry immediately to prevent rust. Clean MDF shelves with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid excessive moisture.
- Inspection: Periodically check all interlocking connections to ensure they remain secure. Tighten any loose connections if necessary.
- Stability Check: Regularly verify the shelf's stability, especially if it is frequently moved or heavily loaded.
Troubleshooting
Shelf Instability
- Issue: The shelf wobbles or feels unstable.
- Solution: Ensure the shelf is placed on a level surface. Check all interlocking connections to confirm they are fully engaged and secure. Use a rubber mallet to tap connections firmly into place. Consider anchoring the unit to a wall.
Shelf Bowing or Sagging
- Issue: An MDF shelf appears to be bending under load.
- Solution: This indicates that the maximum load capacity for that shelf (175 kg) has been exceeded or the weight is not evenly distributed. Immediately remove some items and redistribute the load.
