2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances.

• Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.

4. Setup and First Use

4.1 Unpacking

• Carefully remove all packaging materials and protective films from the appliance.
• Ensure all accessories are present: portafilter, 1-cup filter, 2-cup filter, measuring spoon/tamper.

4.2 Initial Cleaning

• Wash the water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
• Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

4.3 Filling the Water Tank

• Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
• Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not exceed the MAX line.
• Place the water tank back securely into its position.

4.4 Priming the Machine (First Use)

• Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. Press the On/Off button. The indicators will flash as the machine heats up.
• Once the indicators stop flashing and remain steady, the machine is ready.
• Place a large cup or container under the portafilter outlet.
• Press the 2-cup button to run water through the system without coffee. Repeat this process 2-3 times to clean and prime the internal components.
• The machine is now ready for making coffee.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is preheated (indicators steady).
2. Insert the desired filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup) into the portafilter.
3. Add ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. Use the measuring spoon to add the correct amount (approx. 7g for 1-cup, 14g for 2-cups).
4. Lightly tamp the coffee grounds with the flat end of the measuring spoon. Ensure the coffee is level and not over-filled.
5. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until it locks.
6. Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray under the portafilter spouts.
7. Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button on the control panel. The machine will automatically brew the coffee and stop when the programmed quantity is reached.

5.2 Programming Coffee Quantity

• To customize the volume of your espresso, press and hold the 1-cup or 2-cup button until the desired amount of coffee is dispensed.
• Release the button. The machine will remember this setting for future brews.

5.3 Using the Steam Function (Milk Frothing)

1. Ensure the machine is preheated.
2. Press the steam button on the control panel. The steam indicator will flash as the machine heats up to steam temperature.
3. While waiting, fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
4. Once the steam indicator is steady, position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
5. Turn the steam control knob on the side of the machine to release steam.
6. Move the pitcher up and down gently to create foam. Once desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam control knob.
7. Press the steam button again to turn off the steam function.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your espresso machine.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

• Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
• Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the indicator shows it is full.
• Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly release steam to clear any internal blockages.
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling

Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Use a commercial descaling solution suitable for coffee machines and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Always rinse the machine thoroughly with several cycles of fresh water after descaling.
