4. Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for a tool-free and leak-proof installation of your GLACIER FRESH GF-XWF water filter:
- Prepare for Installation: Locate the filter cartridge housing in your refrigerator. It is typically found in the upper right corner of the fresh food section.
- Remove Old Filter: Open the filter cartridge housing by squeezing the two front tabs and gently pulling down. The old filter will release.
- Insert New Filter: Line up the ports on the new GLACIER FRESH GF-XWF filter with the ports on the filter cartridge holder. Gently insert the filter into the housing.
- Secure Filter: Slowly turn the filter to the right until it stops. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. As you turn the filter, it will automatically orient itself into position. - Close Housing: Slowly push the filter up into the clips. Close the filter cartridge housing by gently pushing the lid upwards until the tabs lock into place.
- Flush System: After installation, dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the dispenser to flush the system and remove any air or carbon fines.
- Reset Filter Indicator: Refer to your refrigerator's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset the filter change indicator light. This usually involves pressing and holding a specific button for a few seconds.

Adhering to the replacement schedule ensures that your water remains free from contaminants and tastes its best.
