4. Setup
4.1 Power Connection
Connect the provided 12VDC 2A power adapter to the '12VDC 2A' port on the rear panel of the Octatrack MKII. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet. Use the power switch to turn the unit on or off.
4.2 Audio Connections
The Octatrack MKII features balanced audio inputs for higher headroom and better sound quality. Connect your audio sources to the 'Inputs C, D, L, R' jacks. Connect your monitoring system or mixer to the 'Main Out L, R' and 'Cue Out L, R' jacks. Headphones can be connected to the dedicated 'Headphones' jack.
4.3 MIDI and USB Connections
For MIDI control, connect your MIDI devices to the 'MIDI In', 'MIDI Out', and 'MIDI Thru' ports. Use the 'USB' port to connect the Octatrack MKII to a computer for data transfer and integration with software.

Choose between several custom machines—static, flex, thru, neighbor, pickup—to suit your sample recording, manipulation, and effects processing needs for each of the eight tracks.
5.3 Sequencing
An onboard 16-track sequencer (8 internal, 8 MIDI) provides comprehensive control over your sounds and external gear. Use the dedicated function buttons for efficient workflow and precise sequencing.

5.4 Crossfader and Performance Controls
