1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

Connect the provided 12VDC 2A power adapter to the '12VDC 2A' port on the rear panel of the Octatrack MKII. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet. Use the power switch to turn the unit on or off.

4.2 Audio Connections

The Octatrack MKII features balanced audio inputs for higher headroom and better sound quality. Connect your audio sources to the 'Inputs C, D, L, R' jacks. Connect your monitoring system or mixer to the 'Main Out L, R' and 'Cue Out L, R' jacks. Headphones can be connected to the dedicated 'Headphones' jack.

4.3 MIDI and USB Connections

For MIDI control, connect your MIDI devices to the 'MIDI In', 'MIDI Out', and 'MIDI Thru' ports. Use the 'USB' port to connect the Octatrack MKII to a computer for data transfer and integration with software.

5. Operating Instructions

The Octatrack MKII is designed for intuitive operation with its clear OLED screen and dedicated function buttons.

5.1 Basic Navigation and Display

The OLED screen provides clear visibility and easy navigation in any setting. Use the high-resolution precision encoders and rugged backlit buttons to navigate menus, adjust parameters, and trigger functions.

5.2 Sampling and Audio Manipulation

The Octatrack MKII features eight stereo audio tracks for versatile performance. Utilize real-time pitch shifting and time stretching for flexible audio manipulation. Choose between several custom machines—static, flex, thru, neighbor, pickup—to suit your sample recording, manipulation, and effects processing needs for each of the eight tracks.

5.3 Sequencing

An onboard 16-track sequencer (8 internal, 8 MIDI) provides comprehensive control over your sounds and external gear. Use the dedicated function buttons for efficient workflow and precise sequencing.

5.4 Crossfader and Performance Controls

The ultra-smooth contactless crossfader allows for precise performance control, enabling seamless transitions and dynamic sound morphing during live sets. High-resolution precision encoders ensure accurate adjustments at all times.
