5. Setup
Battery Installation
The Mecurate Digital Angle Gauge requires 2 AAA batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the markings inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Press the Power button (
) to turn the device on. - Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds to turn the device off.
- The device will automatically shut off after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Zeroing the Angle (Absolute Measurement)
To establish a true horizontal or vertical reference (0°), place the device on a flat, level surface or against a plumb surface. Press the ZERO button. The display will show 0.00°, indicating that this is now your absolute reference point.
Relative Angle Measurement
To measure the angle between two surfaces:
- Place the device on the first surface.
- Press the ZERO button. The display will read 0.00°. This sets the first surface as your relative zero.
- Move the device to the second surface. The display will now show the angle difference between the first and second surfaces.

Hold Function
Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live measurement.
Unit Conversion
Press the MODE button to cycle through different measurement units: degrees (°), percent (%), and pitch (IN/FT or mm/m).

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in its soft carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
