  3. Peel off the remaining red protective film from the other side of the adhesive pad.
  4. Position the mounting disk on the prepared dashboard surface. Press down firmly for 10-30 seconds to ensure strong adhesion.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the volport Dashboard Mounting Disk is securely installed and the adhesive has cured for 24 hours, you can attach your suction cup device. Simply place the suction cup base onto the smooth surface of the mounting disk and engage its locking mechanism as per your device's instructions. The disk provides an optimal surface for the suction cup to create a strong vacuum seal.

5. Care and Maintenance

  • To clean the surface of the mounting disk, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the surface.
  • If you need to remove the disk, carefully peel it off. The 3M VHB adhesive is designed to peel off cleanly without leaving residue, but care should be taken to avoid damaging the dashboard material.
  • Replacement 3M VHB adhesives are provided for re-installation or if the original adhesive loses its effectiveness.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Issue: Suction cup not adhering to the disk.
Solution: Ensure both the disk surface and the suction cup are clean and free of dust. Re-wet the suction cup slightly if necessary, and ensure its locking mechanism is fully engaged.
  • Issue: Mounting disk detaching from the dashboard.
Solution: This usually indicates improper installation. Ensure the dashboard surface was thoroughly cleaned and dry before application. Press firmly for 10-30 seconds during installation and allow a full 24-hour curing period before use. Extreme temperatures can affect adhesion; the upgraded 3M adhesive is designed for high heat resistance.
  • Issue: Adhesive residue left after removal.
Solution: While designed for clean removal, some residue may occur on certain surfaces or if removed improperly. Use an adhesive remover suitable for automotive surfaces, testing on an inconspicuous area first.
