Model: 1227040013
1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your HP Pro Shredder 10MC document shredder. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device and retain it for future reference.
The HP Pro Shredder 10MC is a high-security micro-cut document shredder designed for secure disposal of sensitive documents, credit cards, and other materials. It features a security level 5 (P-5) micro-cut, capable of shredding up to 10 sheets of 80g/m² paper simultaneously into tiny 2x15mm particles.
2. Safety Instructions
To prevent injury or damage to the shredder, always observe the following safety precautions:
- Keep Hands and Hair Clear: Never place hands, fingers, or any loose clothing near the paper feed opening. Keep long hair tied back.
- Children and Pets: Keep the shredder out of reach of children and pets. Do not allow them to operate the device.
- Power Disconnection: Always unplug the shredder from the power outlet before moving, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.
- Appropriate Materials: Only shred materials specified in this manual. Do not shred wet paper, adhesive labels, or materials containing glue, as this can cause jams and damage.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the maximum sheet capacity of 10 sheets (80g/m²) or attempt to shred materials thicker than recommended.
- Stable Surface: Place the shredder on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the shredder to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:
- HP Pro Shredder 10MC unit
- Waste collection bin (20 Liters)

4. Setup
- Unpack the Shredder: Carefully remove the shredder and all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Position the Shredder: Place the shredder on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for ventilation and access to the waste bin.
- Install Waste Bin: Slide the 20-liter waste collection bin securely into the shredder cabinet. Ensure it is fully inserted to allow proper operation.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the shredder's power inlet, then plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Locate the power switch or mode selector on the top of the shredder. Set it to the "Auto" position. The shredder is now ready for operation.
- Feed Documents: Insert up to 10 sheets of 80g/m² paper into the paper feed slot. The shredder will automatically start shredding when paper is detected and stop when the shredding is complete.
- Shredding Other Materials: The HP Pro Shredder 10MC can also shred credit cards, paper clips, and staples. Insert these items one at a time into the designated feed slot (if separate) or the main paper feed slot.
- Continuous Operation: The shredder is designed for continuous operation for up to 20 minutes. After this period, it requires a cool-down period to prevent overheating. If the shredder stops due to overheating, allow it to cool down for approximately 30-40 minutes before resuming operation.
- Emptying the Waste Bin: When the waste bin is full, the shredder may stop operating. Pull out the waste bin from the front of the unit and empty the shredded material. Reinsert the bin securely to resume operation. The large viewing window allows for easy monitoring of the fill level.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your shredder.
- Oiling the Shredder: For micro-cut shredders, regular oiling is crucial. Apply shredder oil (specifically designed for document shredders) across the paper entry slot every 30 minutes of cumulative shredding or at least twice a month. Run a few sheets of paper through after oiling to distribute it.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the shredder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Clearing Paper Jams: If a paper jam occurs, switch the shredder to "Reverse" (REV) mode to attempt to clear the paper. If the jam persists, unplug the shredder and carefully remove the jammed paper manually. Always exercise extreme caution and keep hands away from the cutting blades.
