Setup

  1. Charging the Units: Before first use, fully charge both the transmitter and receiver using the provided USB double head charger cable. Connect the cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) and plug it into both units. The power/charge indicator will show charging status. A full charge provides up to 5 hours of operation.
  2. Powering On: Locate the "On/Off" switch on both the transmitter and receiver. Slide the switch to the "On" position for both units.
  3. Selecting a Channel: The system offers four operating channels (A, B, C, D). Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are set to the same channel. Use the channel selection button on each unit to cycle through the available channels until they match. The selected channel will be indicated by an LED.
  4. Connecting the Transmitter: Plug the transmitter unit into your instrument's output jack. The jack is approximately 225° adjustable to accommodate various instrument designs and jack placements.
  5. Connecting the Receiver: Plug the receiver unit into the input of your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface.
  6. Pairing: The units should automatically pair once powered on and set to the same channel. A successful connection is typically indicated by a solid LED on both units.

Operating Instructions

  • Power On/Off: Use the dedicated switch on each unit to power them on or off. Always power off both units when not in use to conserve battery life.
  • Channel Selection: If you experience interference or are using multiple ODWS-1BK systems simultaneously, you can change the operating channel. Press the "Channel" button on both the transmitter and receiver until they display the same channel (A, B, C, or D). Up to four systems can operate concurrently in the same area by using different channels.
  • Automatic Standby: To save power, the system features an auto-standby (sleep mode) function. If no audio signal is detected for 10 seconds, the units will enter sleep mode. They will automatically reactivate when an audio signal is present.
  • Range: The system operates reliably up to 100 feet (approximately 30 meters) in open line-of-sight conditions. Obstacles and other 2.4 GHz devices may reduce this range.
  • Compatibility: The ODWS-1BK is compatible with most active and passive instrument systems, as well as acoustic instruments equipped with piezo pickups.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the units. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the housing and internal components.
  • Battery Care: The built-in Lithium Polymer batteries are designed for over 2500 charging cycles. To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the units regularly. Charge them when the low battery indicator appears.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the units in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to charge them partially (around 50%) before long-term storage.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the units to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity, or dusty environments.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound or intermittent signal.
  • Units not powered on.
  • Transmitter and receiver on different channels.
  • Low battery.
  • Out of range.
  • Interference from other 2.4 GHz devices.
  • Instrument or amplifier volume too low.
  • Ensure both units are powered on.
  • Verify both units are set to the same channel (A, B, C, or D).
  • Charge both units fully.
  • Reduce distance between transmitter and receiver.
  • Change to a different channel.
  • Check instrument and amplifier volume settings.
Short battery life.
  • Units not fully charged.
  • Battery degradation over time.
  • Ensure units are charged until indicator shows full.
  • Batteries have a finite lifespan (2500+ cycles). Consider replacement if significantly degraded.
