3.2 Rear Panel Connections

Figure 2: Rear panel of the SA-MA4C mixer, showing power input, speaker outputs, and RCA connections.
- Power Input: Connects to the AC power supply (120VAC 50/60Hz or 230VAC 50/60Hz).
- 4 Ohm Dual 1/4" Speaker Outputs: Connects to passive speakers. Ensure speakers have a minimum impedance of 4 ohms.
- RCA L/R Input: For connecting external audio sources like CD players or tape decks.
- RCA L/R Output: For sending the mixed signal to external recording devices or additional amplifiers.
4. Setup
- Placement: Place the mixer on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Off: Ensure the mixer's power switch is in the OFF position before making any connections.
- Speaker Connection: Connect your passive speakers to the 4 Ohm Dual 1/4" Speaker Outputs on the rear panel. Ensure the total impedance of connected speakers is not less than 4 ohms.
- Input Connections: Connect microphones to the XLR inputs and line-level instruments or devices to the 1/4" TRS inputs for each channel. For external audio sources like CD players, use the RCA L/R inputs.
- Output Connections (Optional): If recording or connecting to additional amplification, use the RCA L/R outputs.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the mixer's power input and then to a suitable AC power outlet.
- Initial Settings: Turn all channel Level controls and the Master Volume control to their minimum (fully counter-clockwise) positions before powering on.
5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Turn on the mixer's power switch.
- Adjust Master Volume: Slowly increase the Master Volume control to a low listening level.
- Adjust Channel Levels: For each active channel, slowly increase its Level control until the desired volume is achieved. Monitor the sound for any distortion.
- Tone Adjustment: Use the Bass and Treble controls on each channel to shape the sound. The 3-Band EQ on the master channel can be used for overall tone adjustment.
- Effects: To apply effects, increase the Effects control on the desired channel. Adjust the Digital Delay Time and Repeat controls in the master section to fine-tune the echo effect.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Power cord not connected; Power switch off; Blown fuse | Check power cord connection; Turn power switch on; Replace fuse (6 Amp/250 Volt T1) if necessary. |
| No sound output | Master Volume too low; Channel Level too low; Incorrect speaker connection; Muted source | Increase Master Volume; Increase Channel Level; Verify speaker connections and impedance; Check source device for mute/volume. |
| Distorted sound | Input level too high; Master Volume too high; Speaker impedance mismatch | Reduce channel Level or Master Volume; Ensure speaker impedance is 4 ohms or higher. |
| Bluetooth not pairing | Mixer not in Bluetooth mode; Device too far; Device already paired to another unit | Ensure mixer is in Bluetooth mode; Move device closer; Disconnect from other devices and try again. |
