4. Operating the BCONE System
4.1 Alarm Modes
- Active Mode (ON): The system is fully active. Any significant water disturbance will trigger a loud alarm from both the Pool Unit and Home Unit, and send alerts to your smartphone.
- Swim Mode: When activated, the alarm will not sound to allow swimming. If no movement is detected for several minutes, the system will automatically reactivate to Active Mode.
- OFF Mode: The system is deactivated. Use this mode when performing maintenance or when the pool is not in use for extended periods.

4.2 Alarm Activation and Alerts
Upon detecting a significant water disturbance, the BCONE system will activate its alarm. The alarm is powerfully loud on both the pool and home units. Additionally, you will receive instant notifications on your smartphone via the app.

4.3 Manual Alarm Turn-Off
The alarm can be manually turned off directly from the Home Unit or via the smartphone app. This is useful when you are intentionally entering the pool or performing maintenance.
4.4 Sensitivity Settings
The BCONE system features adjustable sensitivity settings to optimize detection for different scenarios (e.g., kids, pets, adults). You can adjust the sensitivity through the accompanying app.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Battery Management
The Pool Unit requires 2 AA Lithium Ion batteries (included). Ensure batteries are regularly checked and replaced as needed to maintain optimal performance. The Home Unit is typically powered via a USB-C cable, but may also have a backup battery.
5.2 Cleaning and Durability
The BCONE Pool Unit is designed with highly durable materials and is IP68 waterproof certified, making it resistant to water and dust ingress. It is also chlorine (CI) and UV resistant. Periodically clean the unit with a soft cloth and fresh water to remove any pool chemical residue or debris.

6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Preventing False Alarms
The BCONE system utilizes an advanced algorithm to prevent false alerts. However, certain environmental factors can still trigger unintended alarms. Follow these guidelines to minimize false alarms:
- Install Away from Disturbances: Position the pool unit at a distance from pump outlets, skimmers, or other water features that create constant movement.
- Manage Pump Outlets: Aim pump outlets downwards to lessen wave formation. Consider running the pump at night or activating Do Not Disturb (DND) mode during these hours if unavoidable.
- Secure the Pool Unit: Use the provided attachment kit to securely fasten the pool unit to the pool side, preventing it from drifting into high-disturbance areas.
- Activate Do Not Disturb Mode: Utilize the DND mode via the app to prevent false alarms during specific times, such as strong winds or heavy rain.
- Adjust Sensitivity: Lower the sensitivity of the Pool Unit through the accompanying app if you experience frequent false detections from minor disturbances.
- Clear the Pool Surface: Ensure there are no toys, floaties, or large debris left in the pool, as these can activate the alarm.

6.2 Connectivity Issues
If your app does not stay connected or the system shows as offline, ensure your Home Unit is within range of your Wi-Fi router and that your Wi-Fi network is stable. Restarting both the Home Unit and your router may resolve connection problems. Verify that the app is updated to the latest version.
6.3 Alternative Alarm Settings (Loss of Certification)
The BCONE system is ASTM F2208 certified. Please note that altering certain alarm settings, such as disabling the Pool Unit siren, disabling the Home Unit siren, or shortening the duration of the siren, will result in the loss of this ASTM Certification 2208.
