2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview
The Tuya WiFi Door Sensor consists of two main components: the main sensor unit and a smaller magnetic strip. These two parts work together to detect when a door or window is opened or closed.

The main unit houses the electronics and battery, while the magnetic strip contains a magnet. When the two components are separated, the sensor triggers an alert.
5. Setup Guide
5.1. Battery Installation
- Gently slide open the back cover of the main sensor unit.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the back cover securely.
5.2. App Download and Account Creation
- Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
5.3. Device Pairing (Connecting to Wi-Fi)
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The sensor does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
- Open the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app.
- Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
- Select "Security & Sensor" from the category list, then choose "Door/Window Sensor (Wi-Fi)".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to put the sensor into pairing mode (usually involves pressing a button on the sensor or opening/closing it rapidly).
- Confirm the indicator light on the sensor is blinking as described in the app.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network password and proceed with the pairing process.
- Once successfully added, you can rename the device for easier identification (e.g., "Front Door Sensor").

5.4. Physical Installation
The sensor is designed for easy installation using the included 3M adhesive pads.
- Choose a clean, dry surface on your door/window frame and the door/window itself.
- Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive pads and attach them to the back of both the main sensor unit and the magnetic strip.
- Align the main sensor unit and the magnetic strip so that the two arrows on their sides are opposite each other when the door/window is closed.
- Ensure the distance between the two components is as close as possible (ideally less than 10mm) when the door/window is closed, without affecting its normal opening or closing.
- Press firmly for a few seconds to ensure a strong bond.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Real-time Alerts and History Log
Once installed and connected, the sensor will automatically detect the open/close status of your door or window.
- When the door/window is opened or closed, the sensor will immediately push an instant notification to your smartphone via the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app.
- You can view a detailed history log of all open/close events within the app, allowing you to monitor your home's security status at any time.

6.2. Voice Control Integration (Alexa & Google Home)
The Tuya WiFi Door Sensor is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for convenient voice control.
- Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account:
- Open the Alexa or Google Home app.
- Navigate to "Skills & Games" (Alexa) or "Works with Google" (Google Home).
- Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" and enable the skill/service.
- Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account using your app credentials.
- Discover devices: Once linked, ask your voice assistant to "Discover devices" or manually add the sensor.
- Voice Commands: You can now ask your voice assistant about the sensor's status.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Battery Replacement
The sensor is powered by 2 AAA batteries and is designed for long-lasting performance (up to one year).
- When the battery level is low, the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app will automatically push a notification to remind you to change the batteries.
- To replace batteries, gently slide open the back cover of the main sensor unit, remove the old batteries, insert new AAA batteries with correct polarity, and close the cover.
7.2. Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, occasionally wipe the sensor units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
