Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and serious injury. Familiarize yourself with all safety warnings and instructions provided.

2.1. Work Area Safety

  • Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2.2. Electrical Safety

  • Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug.
  • Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.

  • Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool.

2.3. Personal Safety

  • Always wear eye protection (safety glasses or goggles) and hearing protection.
  • Wear a dust mask when operating the saw, especially when cutting materials that produce fine dust.
  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool.
  • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

2.4. Miter Saw Specific Safety

  • Ensure the blade is sharp and correctly installed.
  • Never attempt to cut freehand. Always secure the workpiece with clamps or the vise.
  • Allow the blade to reach full speed before beginning a cut.
  • Keep hands clear of the blade path.
  • Do not remove cut-off pieces until the blade has completely stopped.

5. Operating Instructions

Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye and hearing protection before operating the miter saw.

5.1. Basic Straight Cuts

  1. Place the workpiece firmly against the fence and secure it with the material clamp.
  2. Ensure the miter angle is set to 0° and the bevel angle is set to 0°.
  3. Lower the saw head slightly to align the blade with your cut line, using the LED shadow line for accuracy.
  4. Raise the saw head, press the trigger to start the motor, and allow the blade to reach full speed.

5.2. Miter Cuts

To make miter cuts, adjust the miter table to the desired angle (up to 47° left or 52° right) and lock it in place. Follow the same cutting procedure as for straight cuts.

5.3. Bevel Cuts

For bevel cuts, unlock the bevel adjustment and tilt the saw head to the desired angle (up to 45° left or right). Lock the bevel angle before making the cut.

5.4. Compound Cuts

Compound cuts involve setting both a miter and a bevel angle simultaneously. Carefully set both angles according to your project requirements and ensure they are securely locked before proceeding with the cut.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your miter saw. Always unplug the tool before performing any maintenance.

6.1. Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the saw of dust and debris using a brush or compressed air.
  • Empty the dust bag regularly. For better dust collection, consider connecting the saw to a shop vacuum.
  • Wipe down external surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.

6.2. Blade Care

  • Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness, cracks, or missing teeth. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately.
  • Clean resin and pitch buildup from the blade using a blade cleaner.

6.3. Lubrication

The sliding bars are coated with an antioxidant for durability. Keep them clean and free of debris. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the full service manual, if applicable.
