3. Product Overview
The GINTOOYUN 8-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Network Switch features eight 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports, a DC power input, LED indicators for power and link/activity, and a hardware VLAN switch for network segmentation.
3.1 Front Panel

3.2 LED Indicators
The switch is equipped with LED indicators to provide real-time status information:

4. Setup
The GINTOOYUN 8-Port Gigabit Switch is designed for simple plug-and-play installation. No software configuration is required.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided DC power adapter to the switch's DC 5-20V power input port and then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The Power LED (PW) should illuminate.
- Network Device Connection: Connect your network devices (e.g., computers, routers, printers, smart TVs, game consoles) to any of the 8 RJ45 ports using standard Ethernet cables. The switch automatically detects the connection speed (10/100/1000Mbps) and adjusts compatibility.
- Verify Connection: Once a device is connected, the corresponding LINK/ACT LED for that port should light up green, indicating a successful connection. If there is network activity, the LED will blink.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
The GINTOOYUN switch operates automatically once powered on and connected. It supports full-duplex flow control (IEEE 802.3x) and backpressure half-duplex flow control, ensuring efficient data transfer.
5.2 VLAN Functionality
The switch features a hardware VLAN switch that allows for network segmentation:
- VLAN ON: When the VLAN switch is in the 'ON' position, ports 1 through 7 are isolated from each other. Devices connected to ports 1-7 can only communicate with devices connected to port 8 (the uplink port). This configuration helps to suppress network storms and enhance network security by isolating traffic.
- VLAN OFF: When the VLAN switch is in the 'OFF' position, all 8 ports can communicate with each other freely, functioning as a standard unmanaged switch.
Note: It is recommended to set the VLAN switch to the desired position before connecting devices or powering on the switch to avoid unexpected network behavior.
6. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your GINTOOYUN network switch, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Environment: Keep the switch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the cooling holes on the bottom of the switch are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation.
- Power: Use only the provided power adapter. Disconnect the power adapter during electrical storms or when unused for long periods.
- Fanless Design: The switch features a fanless design, eliminating the need for fan cleaning.
