4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is turned off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
  3. Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove, press the battery release latch (if present) and slide the battery downwards.

4.2 Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the power adapter into the charging dock.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a standard AC outlet.
  3. Place the radio (with battery installed) into the charging dock.
  4. The LED indicator on the charger will typically show red during charging and green when fully charged.
  5. A full charge usually takes 3-4 hours.

4.3 Attaching Accessories

  • Antenna: Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on top of the radio until secure.
  • Belt Clip: Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control

Rotate the Power Switch/Volume Control knob (top-left knob) clockwise to turn the radio on. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn off the radio.

5.2 Selecting a Channel

Rotate the Channel Switch knob (top-right knob) to select one of the 16 available channels. The voice prompt will announce the selected channel number.

5.3 Transmitting and Receiving

  1. To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the radio approximately 2-3 inches from your mouth.
  2. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.
  3. When receiving a signal, the LED indicator will typically glow green.

5.4 Monitor Function

Press and hold the Monitor button (orange button below PTT) to temporarily disable the squelch and listen for weak signals on the current channel. Release the button to resume normal operation.

5.5 Flashlight

Briefly press the Function Key (bottom orange button) to turn the built-in flashlight on or off.

5.6 Emergency Alarm

The emergency alarm can be activated by switching to Channel 11. This will emit a loud siren sound from your radio. Switch to another channel to deactivate the alarm.

  • Keep the radio dry. Avoid exposure to rain, moisture, or liquids.
  • Do not expose the radio to extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
